DAYS 1-5 (JUNE 2-6)

A warm front will approach today, sending clouds back into the region. This front will not have enough moisture for widespread rainfall, so only scattered light rain is possible mainly this evening. As the front slowly but steadily pushes its way eastward through Wednesday morning, a few additional showers may occur. We then get into a wedge of warmer and more humid air during the day Wednesday, when we may see a few additional showers and possibly a thunderstorm as a cold front approaches. This front will also have limited ability to produce much activity, so many areas will see a rain-free Wednesday for most of if not all of the day. The cold front clears the region by early Thursday and drops the humidity a bit, although it will still be a fairly warm day, but the front comes back again to the north on Friday and Saturday with more humidity and a few episodes of showers and thunderstorms possible, though once again it does not look like it will be a widespread rainfall situation.

TODAY: Increasing clouds. Scattered light rain late. Highs 65-72. Wind variable 5-15 MPH.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Risk of rain. Lows 53-60. Wind S up to 10 MPH.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy with a risk of showers early morning, then partly sunny. Risk of a late-day shower or thunderstorm. More humid. Highs 73-80. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Risk of a shower early. Lows 53-60. Wind NW 5-15 MPH.

THURSDAY: Partly cloudy. Highs 78-85. Wind W 5-15 MPH.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Variably cloudy. Lows 60-67. Wind WSW up to 10 MPH.

FRIDAY: Variably cloudy. Chance of a few showers and thunderstorms. Humid. Highs 77-84. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Risk of a few showers and thunderstorms. Patchy fog. Humid. Lows 62-69. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.

SATURDAY: Partly sunny. Risk of showers and thunderstorms mainly morning and midday. Humid. Highs 76-83. Wind SW 5-15 MPH shifting to NW.

DAYS 6-10 (JUNE 7-11)

A frontal boundary will hang up just to the south for a while June 7 with high pressure in eastern Canada and a northeasterly air flow setting up with cooler conditions, lots of clouds and perhaps some isolated to scattered showers. High pressure from the north pushes southward with drier weather June 8-9, temperatures running a little below normal. Temperatures return to near normal June 10-11 but during this time the risk of rainfall may increase, and toward the end of the period we may have to watch for remnant tropical moisture from a Gulf of Mexico system that could potentially bring the first threat of needed significant rain in quite some time.

DAYS 11-15 (JUNE 12-16)

Return to a drier pattern. Temperatures near to below normal.

  1. Good morning and thank you TK.

I guess I was wrong about being able to go back and compare because it appears that once a new format is selected it is applied to all the past
    blog dates as well.

Given that, my initial comments on today’s format…

Although I very much like that the poster’s handle is in Bold and is prominent, I dislike the rest of the format. I don’t find site navigation
that friendly at all. If we could add the boldness to the poster, I would
actually prefer yesterday’s, but I guess I am a pain in the ass. 🙂

  2. Thank you TK. I will second and agree with JPDs. I don’t see the list of commenters on the side panel and haven’t figured how to find covid. Maybe I’m the only one who uses the side panel constantly though.

    1. Oh found it….you have to scroll down. Have not found covid yet but will. So far I prefer yesterday’s. But I’m truly looking forward to seeing all and thank you for this fun experiment.

  3. So this is definitely better then yesterday but I don’t think anything was wrong with the original format . I guess change can be good if that’s what you are aiming for .

  4. Thank you, TK.

This one’s dramatic. Maybe save it for a headline like “Blizzard imminent, take shelter, 22-30 inches expected across much of SNE”

  5. There is at least one negative about this format. You can’t refresh by simply clicking “return” on the keyboard. You have to scroll all the way up to the top of the page and click “comments” again.

  6. Lukewarm on this one – better than yesterday’s by a touch but won’t be the winner.

    1. Hello there Doc. I haven’t seen you around these parts lately (unless of course I missed it) 🙂

  7. Thank you for all the comments on this layout!

Please don’t hesitate to be negative if you don’t like it, or any of them. It will help me decide which one I go to for a longer term.

There are two of them coming up on the list that I think most people will like a lot. This is number two out of eight. I don’t remember where they line up other than I think one of them is number eight.

  8. I will make a prediction…
Layout number three will not be the winner, but rather a trip in a time machine maybe back to the 1970s. Nevertheless I will give it a fair chance. 😀

    1. Frankly, I wouldn’t mind just taking a trip back to February 2020…the good old days. 🙂

  9. Thanks TK.
I like the color, font, and back ground, however I think it’s not convenient to have to scroll all the way to the bottom to see the latest comment. Where as before it was at the top on the side. Unless I’m missing something, please correct me if I’m wrong.

    1. Guess I should have read up. You’d think since I had to scroll down I’d have read while I scrolled. I ageee with you. Look is nice. Navigation not so much

  10. Thanks TK. So far I didn’t like the layout of the comments in the first layout. They look better in this second layout, but I don’t like the look of it overall. Looking forward to seeing the other layouts.

  11. I like this layout better than the first, but would like to see this with some pictures added for more color. Liking the toggle feature!

  12. Thank you, TK.
Liked yesterday’s and liked today’s too. Maybe it’s fun just to switch them up from time to time– like the Bruins wearing old time sweaters!

    1. Hi MassBay. I hope you are well. Did you see wheee Hollingsworth (old Ben Franklin) has to close permanently in Cushing square? I’m heartsick.

  13. Question on this format. I use my IPad and have not found a way to get to the most recent post within scrolling through all others. I wonder if there is an option to do soon other devices or if I am missing something on this layout. Thanks.

    1. I finally found where to flip it. For some reason it didn’t show up earlier. Maybe a glitch.

    2. Reading this again I think you meant something else. Yes I’m not sure exactly how to line that up with this version. But we’ll see what the other ones look like.

  14. Thanks TK! I like this one better than yesterday’s, especially on mobile, but still don’t think it’s a winner.

Eyeing severe weather potential down here tomorrow. Could be an interesting day.

  15. TK I like the way you figured out how to flip it so newest comments are on top. Hit the like button on that!

    1. Will take some getting used to if that’s the norm. I am SO used to the other way of reading by scrolling to the bottom.

      1. I’m not sure how it will be once the final layout is chosen.

I’m pretty sure whatever I end up doing won’t please anybody. I tried it a bunch of years ago – same result. I ended up going back to Twenty-Ten theme. But with all these options available for my blog, I’d love to be able to use some of them. 🙂
