  1. If at the beginning of 2020 someone had told me that I would read headlines like these on July 10 from ABCNews, not The Onion, I would have been amazed at their crazy imagination:

Mexico looking to extend border closing with US

Florida reports over 11,000 new cases, 11-year-old girl among fatalities

Boston’s moratorium on evictions extended through end of year

Texas county shuts down testing centers due to heat

Dog in Texas confirmed to have COVID-19

    1. Just tragic. I’d honestly never have thought we’d be in this position, I’d never have believed if either. Although at no point would I have thought trump and company would address it effectively.

  2. Latest sports news:

    * Texas High School Football has been cancelled for the fall season. No “Friday Night Lights”.

    * Big Ten (football) will play only games within their conference.

    * There is a “rumor” that the NFL may delay their season start to October. Preseason games still TBD.

    1. I truly adore this woman. And I also truly believe she has emerged as the leader of the free world.

  3. The NH rally was not cancelled because of the rain storm. I think the organizers saw the writing on the wall: The prospect of very low turnout, in part because of Covid-19 fears.

The plan is now to have the GOP convention outdoors. I’m okay with that. But, because it’s in Florida, and there will be many middle-aged people and older in attendance, there should be physical distancing and mask protocol.

    1. No surprise that HS football in Texas has been cancelled statewide given their “hotspot” status.

I would also say that college and pro sports are still TBD, even if actual play does begin.

    2. Tee hee….we know it wasn’t rain, but trump and company deny it was due to low turnout and was due to Fay 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

  4. You can add the ACC to the “in-conference” play this fall.

The NCAA needs to get a handle on this upcoming football season…one way or the other.
