  1. The CDC recommends NO Thanksgiving travel as well as “online” shopping instead on Black Friday.

The Halloween to New Year’s Eve timeframe 2020 is going to look VERY different, no doubt. I was afraid of this from the beginning.

    1. Agree with this Philip. We have plans b, c, d and I have to call about e today. I think there are things we can do even though it won’t be the same

  2. Teachers are struggling. I’m hearing one town delayed opening because they were short 30 teachers. Many schedules went out in another town near here with the teacher listed as TBD One grand….not Sutton….has not had a math teacher for a week.

My heart breaks as I know many dedicated teachers who struggled with their decision to step away from a profession that has been a passion. My heart breaks equally for the teachers who have made the decision to stay. Each and every teacher and staff member….to me…is a true hero.

      1. I know also of younger teachers. And with Joshuas comment yesterday on covid impacting women 20-40 in England, that is a huge concern.

  3. Watch the last 5 minutes of Baker’s press conference today. He is fantastic – and I’m fiercely Democrat!

    1. I agree. I thought he might explode..with good reason.

Other than that and at the moment I’m disgusted with baker, DESE and Riley. I knew what was planned to be said today. Until I heard it, I could not believe that DESE gave three options and a summer to decide and after 5-8 days in school had the audacity to pull the rug out.

Marlboro went full remote with 8 positives… on top of them holding their presser

  4. According to Trudeau, cases are rising again in Canada. Joshua mentioned previously that for awhile they were quite low, if I understood correctly.

  5. Pulled the plug on the London trip. Let’s hope my daughter and her mother can visit in December.

Philip, Canada is seeing an increase, but not a dramatic surge, except in pockets of Ontario.

Unfortunately, Europe is really getting hit quite hard at the moment, with the exception of Ireland, Germany (are they fudging numbers there?), Finland, Norway, and Sweden (cases are rising again, but it’s not yet a surge).

I may have to toss out the T-cell immunity theory, which I was bandying about. Several hard-hit areas are getting hit hard again: Madrid, London, Paris, and now it appears New York City is seeing a spike. It’s still true that most hard-hit areas have not yet seen spikes. But, that may be coming soon.

For a virus that apparently barely changes over time it’s a nasty infection.

I learned today that another neighbor of mine – well, 4 blocks from where I live – died. She was 80. Got Covid-19 in April. Became quite ill. Seemed to get better. Then got sick again. Finally died on September 10th.
