  1. Thanks TK.

There are two confirmed cases of monkeypox (one in Boston and NY) and one unconfirmed in Florida. There are now a number of cases scattered throughout the world outside of Africa.

Is it time for Pfizer to get started on developing a monkeypox vaccine?

  2. Monkeypox isn’t nearly as transmissible, so it won’t be like Covid. I’m not even sure about the claims some have made that it can be spread through the air. Nevertheless, it bears watching. The Netherlands now has 6 confirmed cases. It had zero confirmed cases on Friday.

My fatigue is gone, which is good. I’ve done very long runs and feel fine. My only issue now is my “innards” as my mother used to call them; referring to my chronically ailing digestive tract.

    1. I didn’t know that you were still feeling affects from your recent bout with Covid. Glad that you are mostly better now Joshua.

I hope this monkeypox hasn’t mutated into something that we can no longer control.

      1. Perhaps it wasn’t clear. I apologize for that. I no longer feel effects from Covid. It’s just my chronic GI issues that are present – have nothing to do with Covid. They’re very annoying, as I can’t eat normally. But, that’s life. Many people suffer from chronic ailments. Mine just happen to be GI-related.

Regarding monkeypox, I haven’t read about mutations in the virus, though it would seem that something has happened to make it more transmissible.

Leave it to the CDC to confuse people. They’ve introduced another pox/virus into the lexicon – orthopoxvirus – which I haven’t heard any other public health agency mention. I think orthopoxvirus is, for all intents and purposes, monkeypox. https://twitter.com/HelenBranswell/status/1528802690364592131

    2. Sorry to hear your innards are not back in step. Sadly. I’ve learned once something upsets mine, it can take a while. Does the BRAT diet help at all?

  3. Thanks, Vicki and Philip.

I eat 5 small meals of healthy food. Today is a difficult day. But I am definitely able to eat. In fact, just did: Lots of vegetables and some chicken, banana and yoghurt for dessert. If it gets really bad I do the BRAT diet. Thankfully, I haven’t had to resort to that in a while. I did have a 9 day hiatus with almost no symptoms, which was great and that wasn’t long ago. So, who knows, maybe this will subside and I can have a nice stretch.

  4. Good news to report on the Covid front. Massachusetts reported a drop in cases compared to last weekend, and a drop in test positivity. Hope this continues.

  5. Wastewater numbers beginning to decline rapidly…could be a nice calm stretch (Covid wise) on the horizon
