The U.S. didn’t just fare poorly during the first year of Covid, compared to every other wealthy, industrialized nation. It has also fared poorly in the latter half of the pandemic. See tweet below. It’s an abysmal failure, in my view: An indictment of our healthcare system (includes all aspects, from preventive to acute care to assisted living/nursing homes) and the inequities ingrained in that system, our underlying health or lack thereof, our political system, and our obsessions with individualism. https://twitter.com/EricTopol/status/1564307989485342720
Ace was asking about the Moderna law suit against Pfizer. I’m appalled at it. It’s a sign of dysfunction in society when we invariably look to the courts for `solutions.’ Prof. Gostin – legal scholar at Georgetown – says this: https://twitter.com/LawrenceGostin/status/1564318704355221504
Oh boy. The article I found was vague. This could create a risk to people worldwide. Sadly, Moderna is not alone in capitalizing. Even our exceptional local hospitals have had me scratching my head
Joshua, thank you for posting. This has had a huge impact on Pfizer’s ability to continue developing products utilizing mRNA tech. To be clear, just bc I work for Pfizer doesn’t mean I see this as a Moderna vs Pfizer issue. This is greed at its worst. I have no doubt if Pfizer had the patent for mRNA tech they would do the same to Moderna. What happens next will decide the future of medicine. Let’s chose wisely.
Excellent comment Ace. I’m so tired of the greed in this country.
Ace. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and Joshua thank you for helping us….or at least me .,,,understand
