  1. The sad state of Mississippi, now plagued with 3rd world problems like no running or potable water in the state’s capital, Jackson. See tweet below. Public health neglect has been a persistent problem in the nation’s poorest state. Failure to invest in proper infrastructure has produced a multitude of preventable problems. Mississippi ranks last in the nation in healthcare. It was (and is) an inadequately vaccinated state with one of the highest Covid-19 death rates; particularly post January 2021. https://twitter.com/therecount/status/1564607861090668550

What would rankle me if I were a black Mississippian is why Governor Tate Reeves doesn’t have any blacks surrounding him at press conferences (in a state heavily populated by blacks). Reeves seems to never have any black person anywhere near him, by the way. Jackson is 80% black. Reeves could have at least invited the black mayor of Jackson to be on stage with him at the presser. Perhaps this article explains it: https://www.jacksonfreepress.com/news/2019/feb/13/tate-reeves-spoke-event-where-yankees-were-compare/

    1. Absolutely unbelievable

Exactly why, while I support many states rights, I have serious problems with states making some of our most major decisions.

  2. While there has been improvement in the numbers of hospitalizations (dropping) and deaths (declining slightly) it’s a very flat slope. See tweet below. And, here’s where we deviate from most of our European peers who have seen much steeper decreases in both hospitalizations and deaths. Why? Mostly because of much better vaccinated populations across Europe. https://twitter.com/EricTopol/status/1564661900087963648
