Cool Friday, Warming Up Weekend, No Major Heat

9:36PM

High pressure to the north and a wave of low pressure to the south will combine to bring more clouds, and east wind, and cool air through Friday. More sun and a warming trend will result from high pressure sinking southward over the weekend. Humidity will make a come back early next week, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, but no major heat.

  1. Thanks TK. Up oin Maine today and went to a water park. It was in the low 70’s and very cool in the shade when we got out of the water.

Tom – Glad you are having fun in NY. I noticed that about 81N and Lake Ontario too in April, when we were on our way to Canada. Even along the 401 in Canada from the border going west into Toronto, there aren’t that many views of the lake. We are heading back that way in a few weeks.

  2. Thanks TK….looks like next week will be a good one for anyone who might be lucky enough to be on vacation. Unfortunately that would not be me. 🙁

      1. I know, right! I was at Castle Island last Friday and took a ride by Black Falcon and saw the beautiful Dawn in port. I did all I could not to stow myself away in someone’s bag as they were waiting to board!

  3. Has the disturbance track a little higher than predicted? on radar it looks like anyone south of the pike will be getting hit or is the air to dry and alot of it is not hitting the ground?

    1. Don’t know if anyone south of the pike will get any rain and I don’t know if the air is too dry – but looking at doppler radar it sure looks like precip. is inching northwards at this point.

  4. Thanks TK.
I know this is not weather related but what a horrible story out of Colorado with at least 12 people killed in a movie theatre. The last thing your thinking going into a movie theatre is someone is going to open fire.
Back to the weather. The weekend looks great but watching Monday and Tuesday for the possiblity of some strong to possibly severe storms.

    1. JJ – ever since I woke up to the coverage I have had a sick feeling in my stomach. It’s unimaginable.

    2. I was sitting in our employee cafe this morning watching the news and couldn’t help but tear up. Simply awful.

  5. John I am going to be enjoying this weekend. Nice temps and humidity in check.
Watching the Potential for storms Monday and Tuesday some of which could be strong to possibly severe.

    1. I got añ early haircut this morning and this last storm was the hot conversation. Seems the weather is just crazy lately. Last winter was just unreal, or the extended fall one might say. And a big snow storm in october just crazy. I say all bets off for this winter, who knows what season will show up. Enjoy your weekend.

    2. Me to JJ. What oos your early take on levels for Monday and Tuesday. It looks like Tuesday could have several of the ingriedients, but was interested to get your thoughts.

We have been in Maine since Thursday and the weather has been great. Mostly cloudy Thursday, Sunny yesterday and today is Mostly sunny at the shore and I can see big puffy clouds in the interior. Not towering though, Water is not the 67 the Mets were showing near Portland last week.

  6. Hey North…. Right now both days look to have a chance for thunderstorms but Tuesday to me looks like the day where we could see strong to possibly severe storms with a front coming through. I would not rule out some places seeing a strong thunderstorm on Monday. Once that front goes by Wednesday and Thursday look delightful.

    1. JJ is it too early to say how it will be between North Conway and Here? Business associate will be leaving north conway about 1:00 on Tuesday to head back this way.

Thank you! Are you watching British Open?

  7. Hi Vicki…. Yes I am watching the British Open. Adam Scott is playing well and going to be taking a four shot lead into the final round. It will be interesting to see tomorrow with the wind picking up and Tiger is lurking so don’t count him out.
For Tuesday right now and this could change I am thinking a mid afternoon start time around 2-3 pm.

    1. Mac (husband). Just started watching. I never count tiger out. I do like Adam Scott. I was working so have just planted myself on the couch and will half listen and half read. Tomorrow mac will watch mostly live. He likes to record enough so he can skip commercials 🙂

Thanks for the storm update. Do you think they will extend into NH?
