TONIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 30s inland valleys, 40-45 city and coast. Wind light N.

THURSDAY: Sun becoming filtered, dimmed later. Highs around 60 falling back to 50s especially coast. Wind light variable becoming SE up to 10 MPH.

    Tom, I saw your post from the last blog. It is great that your family has camped for so long. I may give it a try sometime just from reading your post! Seems like you all have a great time and it also gives the family some time together.

      1. I believe we have to wait for TK to give the official “all clear” signal on that one, LOL. 😀

        1. Didn’t realize TK was Mr. Mother Nature, LOL. My opinion of no snow has been correct thus far and will continue to be correct 😉

  3. A letter to Obama that fortunately was intercepted tested positive for ricin. I remember the anthrax after September 11. It’s tough to absorb all of this.

    I saw the tributes from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Some said Colbert’s was in bad taste but I thought it was great and also think the few times he made me laugh felt good.

    And on a weather note – it is a spectacular day. A bit cooler than yesterday so far but because there is no wind and no clouds feels warmer. 63.4 with a 33 dp (10 below yesterdays dp)

  4. Suspect identified in bombing. Lord and Taylor caught a person placing the bomb, at person has been identified.

    1. CNN has been outside the Brigham for three days according to my wife who works there. There are armed men holding machine guns along with FBI agents standing outside the door of a patient’s room in the ICU at the Brigham. I wouldn’t be surprised if this person of interest turns out to be the suspect or an accomplice.

      1. I think they called him a victim and said he was cleared. I can tell you the cops with guns are not outside the Brigham back today like yesterday. The suspect was caught on camara.

        1. I think you’re right John. Suspect has been arrested. However, I’m sure more than one suspect is involved. Armed men are still guarding a patient’s room in the ICU at the Brigham according to my wife who works in the ICU.

            1. There is a lot of information that is not being released to the media as of yet for security reasons. Like I said, it is not known whether this patient being guarded is a second suspect OR if he is a person who led police to the suspect OR an accomplice. However, he clearly is a person of interest. But, so far, one suspect has just been arrested.

              1. I wonder why the armed guards were not at the ambulance entrance to the Brigham like yestetday. Not there at all. Yestetday I was talking with them.

                1. Not sure John. But my wife works in the ICU–the same floor that these armed guards are guarding a particular room. At this point, both the patient and the guards are still there. I’m sure more than one suspect is involved. And, if this is not a second suspect, he clearly is a person of interest.

              1. I know it’s a different person and wonder if guards at Brigham are for the person’s safety since they said they did clear him. Who knows. CNN just jumped the gun as there was no arrest.

                1. The guy at the Brigham was not the person that was cleared. The person that was cleared was a gentleman who was followed by police back to his apartment on Ocean Blvd in Revere. They searched the apt for 9 hours and cleared the suspect. The person in the ICU at the Brigham is just a person of interest and has not been deemed a suspect nor has he been eliminated as such.

      2. Every source including the FBI which is apparently quite ticked at the new media. CNN is reporting they made a mistake and the FBI has asked them to not jump ahead.

  8. They are – Arod – reporting exactly what you said about the Brigham and a lot of activity there. Is your wife there now? Arod – this could also be a false report and I don’t want to alarm you. A lot is happening at once.

    1. My wife is there now with armed men holding machine guns standing right next to her as she works and takes care of patients. Very strange and a bit concerned for her safety but I’m sure they know what they are doing.

          1. I don’t know what it means – maybe bomb scare. Arod – I’m sure you are right that they know what they are doing at the Brigham – I am thinking of her.

            BZ is saying there are vehicles arriving at the court house – they are forcing people to move further and further back from court house – cars just pulled up – could they be bringing someone in???? SWAT teams are all over

            1. They’ve got a bomb sniffing dog around the cars out in front of the court house. It has been confirmed it is a bomb threat? As much as confirmation means…..

      1. No. It was the building across the street but may have been a false alarm. There was a suspicious car located outside one of the buildings of the hospital. The car was locked and had a gas can visible in the back of the car. Not sure if that gas can contains anything of significance but they are being cautious.

  10. Wow, what the heck is going on?!?!?! I’ve been so busy today that I haven’t had much time to get online.

    1. I’m glad to see you – I’ve been worrying. Stuff if just happening all at once. I can’t help but wonder if the reports that a suspect had been arrested and was on his way to the courthouse triggered someone to call a bomb threat to the court house. Who knows how people with these minds think. I don’t get why the Brigham is being evacuated though. Arod will know more.

      1. You are so sweet to be worrying about me Vicki. It has been a very busy week here! Sounds like the media needs to simmer down a bit and get their facts in order before reporting. I know they are just trying to do their jobs but they are creating a mess.

They are – even after reading what the FBI said cautioning the media to get facts first, Jack Williams BZ started speculating about how he’s never seen the type of presence they are seeing now outside of the courthouse if it were just a normal bomb threat so maybe more is going on. I had to change the channel.

            1. John. You’re not understand. Yes, guards are at all hospitals but they are not inside the ICU guarding the entrances to patients’ rooms. This is a specific and isolated case where four armed men are guarding one specific patient room inside the ICU. Armed officers aren’t going to be guarding one room within an ICU unless they are guarding a person of interest. Believe me. This I know because it’s what my wife and I do for a living.

              1. What my son does for a living also but from the law enforcement side and you are right. We have to remember there is the obvious which may well be the reason but there are also reasons which are not obvious which is why I agree with Hadi that we need to wait and see

              2. Yes I agree. I understand completely. Remember I work at a hospital and the same is going on there.

    Been going to dr. appts. yesterday and today for me and my husband. I just had normal annual procedure today and ok but husband had MRI on back yesterday and now dr. wants a cathscan so more to worry about. In between all this trying to catch up on latest news and there seems to be so much going on with no real answers yet. And inbetween everything else spring has definitely sprung – forsythia and trees show color in Sudbury now and ‘though it isn’t all that warm out I can sense the softness of spring.

    1. I love the term the softness of spring, rainshine. When is your husbands cat scan. My thoughts are with you and with him. Thank you for letting us know.

      1. The dr. will let us know tomorrow when his cat scan will be. His former problem is better but now it’s his back. Actually, he has had back problems for many yrs. but it has gotten worse. Thanks for asking.

  14. Quite frankly I am more confused now than I was on 4/15 as to the bomber’s identity.

    IMO law enforcement officials should not say anymore to the media until the bomber is actually arrested and booked OR positively identified by name, age, height, etc. if he is on the run so that the public can report to local authorities if sighted. Presently all of this is doing is making false hopes not only to the general public but especially the vitctims and their loved ones.

    I do feel quite confident that the bomber will be caught before the spring season ends at the latest…fingers crossed. It does seem a lot of pieces of evidence has been put together not to mention the many security cameras around. 🙂

    1. Just a weather note: It will be interesting as to what TK says but from what I understand a lot of rain and chilly temps ahead in the coming days and weeks. Friday could be the only “summery” day for quite awhile…UGH!

    2. I agree totally. I had to turn BZ off finally because jack Williams who read the FBIs request to stop speculating kept blowing everything he saw at the courthouse out of proportion. BZ should have told him to stop talking. Whdh wasn’t a whole lot better.

  15. I believe that the police either have already detained a suspect or know of a suspect’s whereabouts. It’s just a matter of time before the info. gets released to the public.

    By the way, look for an extended period of wet weather beginning early/midweek next week. This wet weather looks to want to stay awhile (as in many, many days) along with cool, raw temps in the 40s to near 50. Certainly not summery weather to say the least but one thing is for sure, No Snow!

  19. Philip… It does indeed look like a stretch of cooler and somewhat unsettled weather ahead after Friday. But we’ll get some decent days in there as well. Just the overall pattern is trough and cooler.
