High-Ho!

5:34PM

After a disturbance departs this evening, high pressure will set up shop and remain in control for at least a week, resulting in a period of very quiet Spring weather in southern New England. This pattern will feature mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions during the day but there may be a little more cloudiness at some point around early next week, mild air and mostly light winds but coastal sea breezes that will often cool down the shore and up to a few to several miles inland. With drying top soil and still not completely full leaf out of many trees and bushes, fire danger will be on the increase. Use caution if outside with anything that can spark a brush fire.

Updated forecast for southeastern New England…

THIS EVENING: Variably cloudy with isolated showers. Temperatures around 50. Wind E to SE 5-15 MPH.

OVERNIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows in the 30s to around 40. Wind E 5-10 MPH.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs 62-67, cooler coast. Wind variable 5-15 MPH but mostly N to NE.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows upper 30s to middle 40s. Wind light variable.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 63-68, cooler coast. Wind variable 5-15 MPH with sea breezes.

MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY: Partly to mostly sunny days, mostly clear to partly cloudy nights. Lows upper 30s to middle 40s, highs around 60 coast to as high as 70 inland but cooling back into the 50s especially coast on some afternoons with sea breezes.

    1. Hope it goes well. You’ll need some early-season irrigation as topsoils will be drying out during the next week.

  1. For those interested here are final snow stats for 2012-13 winter season (Logan):

Total snow for season = 63.4″ (#18 all time snowiest)
Total snow for March = 20.6″ (#7 snowiest for month)
Total snow for April = Trace

Considering what little snow fell last winter, not bad being in the Top 20 IMO. πŸ™‚

  2. Thanks TK. Hi ho from the RKO. Love the title. I think you are influenced from a special older generation??? Was a standard by Rudy Vallee.

    1. I am influenced by very very much. This is evident in my musical tastes.

Why just today I have listened to:
      The Wonder Stuff
      Dramarama
      Pearl Jam
A collection of songs from the 1980s
A collection of songs from Spring 1991
and now I’m working on 3 albums by Gary Wright, who turns 70 today. πŸ™‚
Later tonight as I am traveling around I will be hearing..
      Christopher Cross
      Thomas Dolby
      and if not tonight, tomorrow…
Def Leppard and probably Trans Siberian Orchestra’s “Beethoven’s Last Night”

      1. Varied doesn’t begin to describe. I was thinking your mom had influence too as Hi Ho is from another era. I thought of my mom and dad πŸ™‚

  3. It seems very cool out there tonight. Didn’t take the walk.
Meanwhile, sox up 2-1; Celts about to start; and Pats took an OLB, Jamie Collins, as a pick (maybe from So. Miss. but I am not sure) in 2nd round. I think they have another 2nd rd pick too.

  4. Boston ocean temps are finally around 50 degrees!! And my pool water is 58.6 degrees πŸ™‚

  9. Nice day . doing some yard work then going to the field to play some football with freinds. then watching the end of the draft. lets see who else the Pats pick up. they did good yesterday with Linebacker collins( pass rush and cover) wide reciever Dobson( finally a deep threat ) cornerback/safty ryan. hard hitter/ cover and Harmon cornerback/safty. cover guy and hard hitter. both a little agressive. agressive is not a total good thing or a total bad thing. if you know what i mean. πŸ™‚

  17. Another awesome weather day !!! …… and a bit milder too.

Did a daytrip to Cape Cod yesterday, got in some mini golf, found a dune sheltered spot on the beach that was nice and warm in the bright sun and found sundae school in Dennisport open on the weekends. All this without the summer crowds. πŸ™‚
