Sunday AM Update

9:50AM

Very few changes but they are significant.

1) Missed the fog in the forecast. My bad. Should have seen that coming with the calm/clear air last evening and the dewpoint and temp set to meet. As of this writing it’s vanishing quickly with the low clouds soon to follow. Fog-gonnit!!!

2) After all, storm staying offshore.

Full discussion later with The Week Ahead. Quick forecast for now.

    1. I had seen the article and it is a good read. I thought, in all fairness, the scientists chose to turn their heads with regard to some data. However, its the case on both sides.

As far as the politician who denounced it, I agree. Terrifying. However it is even more terrifying that he is far from the only one

      Thank you OS

    2. Global warming is real, it’s a choice whether some want to just turn there head and do nothing and say its mostly cycles is just stubborn, go look at the 20 inches the ocean has raised in the last 100yrs, I’m sure we will sit and watch lol

  1. Does anyone remember this????

This is the Mayflower Coastal Paddle-wheel Steamer underway. It was one of six such ships that went back and forth to Boston/Nantasket before the rest of them burned in 1929. This only survivor remained in service until 1948. Many will remember it as the Showboat Night Club on land as you entered Nantasket.

    1. I remember seeing it and it brings back many memories. We stayed at the clarion hotel on nantasket last spring. Great spring deals. As youth we’d drive to paragon at least one night a week in summer. I know there are others here with the same memories. Such a shame they were not able to maintain it

Thank you for the pics OS and the walk down memory lane

      1. Idk, I’ll be honest they are away, they have injuries lots of them in key positions and then the new rookies, also the falcons lost a very close game last week, all of these keys could spell out the Patriots 1st loss, BUT it’s the Patriots and they r still an above average team with those losses, we will see, I do think it will be close either way, if Patriots play well they have a chance, GO PATRIOTS!!

      2. Also if the defense holds the falcons to less than 17pts, it’s a win for the Patriots, 1st 1 to 21 or 24pts wins this game

  2. Matt Ryan has a 34-5 record as a starter at home for Atlanta. I think its going to be a great game. I am hoping my team is 3-1 after they beat the Chargers next week before Peyton comes to big D next Sunday.

    1. Amazing videos OS. I love the faces in the clouds. And what a perfect name for the double sunset – the fingers of God. Thank you

  3. Drove west on pike to shoppes at black stone valley. I expected more color. Probably about 15% if that. Still just the tree tips and dull but that’s typical for early part of change

    1. Some nice colors in the wayland, Sudbury and stow areas. Went to honey pot today and had a nice quiet fall day that we enjoyed.

      1. Just popping out here John. Amazing the difference just a couple of days makes. Sounds as if you came down 20. You were only a couple of miles from our house 🙂 Are your airblows up? We have outside done and all but odds and ends inside

        1. Yes we have six of them outside most seven feet but one is ten feet. I have seven more large animated ones inside that don’t go out till Halloween night, big money for them. The ones inside scream, face ripper, screaming ghost girl, talking witch, rising ware wolf , large ghost and another air blown.

            1. Love it John. I’d almost say Tristan’s favorite holiday is Halloween but he’s huge into Christmas also….for the nativity and for Santa. Me thinks he’s like his nana and just loves the magic of them all

      2. Went to honey pot yesterday, decent color so far in that area. Lots of apples still on the trees. Stood in line for donuts for over an hour but sooo worth it

        1. We’ve been going for donuts during the week. It’s gotten too crowded for us old foggies on weekends. My youngest and family go for the maze and candy apples and donuts about every other weekend. Max finally made an apple pie tonight. Yum

        2. It was fun ace. Was in that line today myself maybe 35 minutes as well as the hot dog line. Did not get any pears or see any as I guess we did not go up far enough. Lots for the kids there. So worth the ride. My son brought a friend. Not sure if you have had there pumpkin pie but really good.

          1. Didnt take the trek for pears. A couple years ago i picked pears there and bit into one and there was a worm in the middle still wiggling around. Havent had a pear since, lol. The pumpkin pies are amazing.

    1. They are handling it like most games. Not blowing anybody away but just making plays when they need to.
