Weekend Improvement

4:40PM

The warm air never made it into southeastern New England as earlier expected, keeping the region cloudier and wetter and cooler than what had been forecast. The showery weather continues into evening before a lull, then later tonight a cold front will approach from the west with another area of showers and possible thunderstorms moving through from west to east.  The front will be a little slow to cross the region, hanging around into Saturday morning when lots of clouds and a chance of additional showers will continue. Saturday afternoon, I’m still expecting improvement as high pressure builds in, and lasts through Sunday, which will be a nice day. But upper level low pressure not that far to the east may provide enough cold air aloft for some fair weather clouds to develop on Sunday, so it may not turn out to be a totally sunny day. High pressure will hang on but start to slide offshore Monday with fair but warmer weather. A cold front will move into the region Tuesday and may get hung up into Wednesday with a shower/thunderstorm threat those days. High pressure should build in with drier weather returning later next week.

    1. Hehehehehe. Three times and I was out but can’t think of a nicer person to be out to 🙂

  1. Thanks TK as always. 🙂

Since there was such a slow start to the trees and flowers this spring, does that mean that the fall foliage will end up being later than usual? Is there a correlation?

    1. The later start should not impact the end of the season. The trees are reactive to seasonal light first, current weather second, and longer term weather third. The first two will outweigh the third easily and the end of the season will depend on what happens in August/September/October than what happened this past winter. 🙂

  2. Thanks tk 🙂 to everyone’s that’s boo hooing the Olympics and not worried, we will see in a short while when they have a final 2, it’s then that the people around here will start there not in my backyard mantality and that will begin to detour the Olympic committee away, not anything else, will we be the 1st city to be picked? And say we don’t want it? That would be embarrassing if you ask me. Have a good night everyone 🙂

    1. That is certainly one opinion and Charlie it is good to hear what you think. Of course if doesn’t diminish the opinion of anyone else. I personally have not had the time to look into it so appreciate your view. And I appreciate the view of others who have equally valid opinions

    2. Though I agree that mentality will be present here, it will be present in all 4 cities. There will be groups that poo-pooh the idea. I hope the negative groups don’t outweigh the positives.

Yes it’s a big undertaking, but I think it’s worth it.

      1. I’m inclined to agree. With the little I know it seems as if would bring much to the city.

      1. Just visit. Had MRCP yesterday. Hopefully they do it next week. They said it is completely full of gallstones! She starts a new job Tuesday too. We are supposed to go to Jamaica in early July 🙂 with her family.

You are so sweet to ask with everything you have going on. How is Mac getting used to the rehab facility? How is his back feeling?

        1. Macs brothers wife had hers out about 10 days ago and is back to her routine. I pray that she can have the procedure soon and has a speedy recovery. Mac moved to rehab late yesterday. It seems very nice 🙂

  3. Thanks TK. This mornings soft rain felt nice. I stood out for a long time with the dog. Air smelled nice too. Dog was not pleased as he doesn’t like being wet. Poured for a bit around 4:00 in newton area. The Sudbury is back up on its banks. It is a fickle river and can shift in a matter of a day. Must be female.

  4. Every city the Olympics ever considered has people who do not want the Olympics in their town. This is not what deters the Olympic Committee. If nay-sayers were able to deter the Olympic Committee, the games would never be held anywhere in the world. By the way, the fact that Boston or any other American city is on the list does not mean the USOC would even take a bid from a city in the USA.

  5. I just made 2 posts…

The first is a brief short-version Summer Outlook.
The second is an update of the blog, also very brief.

    Have a great weekend!
