  1. Thanks TK. Air heavier today. Wonderful day for breakfast on the deck and some reflection about those we honor

  2. Thanks tk 🙂 happy Memorial Day!!

Heading to Gillette go bowling and have lunch at CBS 🙂

  3. God bless all who gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our country. Let’s raise a glass today to all who have served and continue to serve the United States of America!

  4. I have been hearing that Thursday is the best opportunity for widespread showers and thunderstorms.

  5. Current dewpoint at Logan = 51F

The air feels much heavier than that, but I guess it is compared to earlier in the weekend including yesterday when dps were in the 30s.

    1. Seems they go through spurts. I sometimes have the impression mother nature is not happy with them :).

  6. In Myles Standish Forest this weekend and fealt like we saw signs of a big snow melt with a lack of rain since.

The pond that is by the campground was quite high. However, the campground was dusty dry.

Some years, the twigs and branches that have fallen from the trees are quite damp and its a struggle to get them to burn. When you throw them in the campfire, there can be boiling water at the ends of them ……. Not so this year. The branches would snap easily and were tinder dry on the inside.

Camped without electricity, so with the exception of an occasional BZ radio forecast, I’m catching up on the weather. I see a warm/humid summer like week ….. beach after school I guess.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend !

  7. Cloudy day, but nice. Fished this morning. Mowed the lawn this PM. Shopping tonight. 😀

The water level in the Charles Rives is way down. Where there were fish 2 weeks ago,
there was not water today. Fish had moved and I had to find them and I did. 😀

  8. Thunderstorms and copious rain this week? Um, think again. Not so sure of that. We shall see. 😀

  9. Nice Job, just another Joe!!

Kelly allows seven runs, exits in 2nd
Facing the Twins for the first time, Joe Kelly gave up one run in the first and six runs in the second today at Target Field. Watch on MLB.TV Live

    1. Why am I not surprised at this:

      Victorino exits
Calf strain sends Victorino to DL
The Red Sox placed Shane Victorino on the 15-day DL

He is a walking disaster. Ship the BUM out of town already. Contract?
      screw it. EAT IT!!

  10. Another brief burst of very light rain here in Woburn at 3PM. I’m not sure why no one else had this in the forecast. ???

    1. I saw a few sprinkles in Dedham around 11 AM or so. Nothing around here
in the 3 PM time frame. 😀

  11. “Dry” warm fronts this time of year still almost always produce at least occasionally thicker middle clouds and some brief burst of raindrops. Basically mid-level instability bursts. Walter Drag, formerly of NWS Taunton and one of my favorite forecasters, used to be big on forecasting these and I learned from him. Things that I learned from listening to his book-like forecast discussions included but were not limited to:

-The clouds from these fronts almost always arrive sooner than models forecast.
-They usually produce bursts of brief rain, most of the time very light, but sometimes enough to wet the ground, even when model forecasts do not show any precipitation whatsoever.
-If the associated front is not advancing quickly, or is temporarily stationary, the thicker clouds will continue to move over the same area and sometimes can set up sharp temperature contrasts, making forecasting temps (especially daytime temps) very difficult, as there can be a sharp contrast between where sun is out and where a middle overcast is fairly thick, and of course taking into consideration the position of the front as well.

  12. Fyi in case some have not heard.
Navy Blue Angels doing a Boston
Fly over tomorrow approx. Noon to noon thirty.
6 planes in formation plus a 7th to take
    Photos.

Eastern harbor area then Fenway park area.

    1. often when there is a flyover in Boston, they head this way and then turn around. I’m hoping that might happen

  13. I have posted a new blog entry. This one is the outlook for Summer 2015.

I am now working on a blog with the 7-day forecast and an outline of a format change which begins next week.
