Wednesday Forecast Update

9:19AM

DAYS 1-5 (SEPTEMBER 16-20)…
This 5-day period will have no rain in it, because after we’re dominated by high pressure through Saturday I now expect Sunday’s frontal passage to be dry, bringing only cloudiness with it. Temperatures have rebounded after a recent cool interlude and will be quite warm, peaking on Thursday.
TODAY: Sunny. Highs 77-85. Wind W up to 10 MPH shifting to S.
TONIGHT: Clear. Patchy fog in low elevations. Lows 53-60. Wind S under 10 MPH.
THURSDAY: Sunny. Highs 80-88. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Clear. Patchy fog in low elevations. Lows 55-62. Wind SW under 10 MPH.
FRIDAY: Sunny. Highs 78-86. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows in the 50s. Highs 75-85.
SUNDAY: Partly sunny. Lows in the 60s. Highs in the 70s.

DAYS 6-10 (SEPTEMBER 21-25)…
A sun/cloud mix and cooler breeze Monday September 21 behind a cold front. Quick rebound to warmer with fair weather Tuesday September 22, then a new high from Canada brings fair and slightly cooler weather Wednesday September 23. Watch a disturbance to the south for Thursday September 24 which may toss cloudiness back into the region and at least some risk of rain southern areas though it may stay south. Generally fair and warm weather returns by Friday September 25 based on current thinking.

DAYS 11-15 (SEPTEMBER 26-30)…
Other than a rain risk around September 27-28, look for mostly dry weather and above normal temperatures during the last 5 days of the month.

  1. Thank you, TK. It sure is a glorious September offering the feel of three seasons of weather. Now if we could just fit a touch of snow in……… πŸ˜‰

      1. That’s ok – we can enjoy what we have and then look forward to what is to come. I saw a fun quote that doesn’t apply to today (or many days lately) but made me smile.

“The best thing one can do when it’s raining is to let it rain.” Longfellow

  2. Think high pressure at all levels of the atmosphere is in control ?

According to Mt. Washington.org, the wind at the summit is 2 mph ……

Oh and its 64F !!! Glad this isn’t a June or July sun at work today, able to fully mix the column.

  3. Thanks Tk πŸ™‚

No snow is great!! Keep that crap away!! And no rain for the next 3 weeks is fine with me. The less inconvenience the better. πŸ™‚

  4. Thanks, TK.

And I am loving this weather. Looking forward to roast turkey, stuffing, gravy and then the holidays. (roast turkey and stuffing is my comfort food – can’t enjoy it in the summer heat) And yes, actually looking forward to the first snowfall. Yes, enjoying these last days of summer for 2015 too but the seasons change – the weather is never boring in New England! πŸ™‚

      1. I’m sick to death of this bullshit!!!!

Too many animals on the loose with guns.

I WANT ALL the guns wiped out of existence! It’s pathetic.

NO OTHER developed country in the whole WORLD
has a gun violence issue like this country. NOT one!!!!
        Think about that!

Too many freakin NEANDERTHAL’s making decisions.
Can you say NRA and all of their asinine cronies!!!!!!!

And if you think I am ANGRY you’re DAMN Right!!!

I am SICK SICK SICK SICK of this crap happening!!!!

        SICK oF IT!()&@*(#*!@^#&*!*@#^!&*(@#^&*(!^@#!&*(@#^&*!^@#&^(!*&@#^&*!^&*@#^!&*^@#&*^!&*(@#^*(!&@

        1. I don’t think they should get rid of guns, as it’s our American right, but in most of America all you need is a id and you can get a gun, in Texas you will be grocery shopping in Dallas and you will be in the egg isle, and you will see 3 folks showing each other guns to each other, very very very normal. πŸ™‚

          1. You are making my point. It’s insane.

It’s not the wild West anymore. There is NO NEED
for GUNS. NONE! Certainly not hand guns and
            assault rifles.

            1. Nra is waaay to big, and there are 100’s of millions in America that would say, come take my guns, if you want them. It’s crazy how many Americans have them. πŸ™‚

              1. Agree.

let me tell a story if I may.

2 weeks ago, we were down in
                Lakeville at my wife’s sisters.
Her husband (my Bil) was telling me about the guy next door
who had guns. His 20 something son was giving his wife a really hard time about something and infuriated this guy to the point that he took a shot gun and blew the head off of his own son!!!!!

                Next day, my Brother-In-Law
took his 3 guns and turned them into to the local Police station.

He said that if his super nice mild mannered Neighbor could get angered enough to shoot his own son, then he didn’t want
any part of those guns around.
                ESPECIALLY when you mix it
                with Alcohol!!!

                1. I’m not the one you should say sorry too.

So you don’t feel responsible as a husband and father to protect your wife and daughter when these four men are at your door at 4am who are looking to rape and murder everyone in your family?

        2. We need to do something about help for our mentally ill as well. The sad part is that there are many countries that we could learn from with regard to gun control, but as always, we know best.

          1. I believe there should be strict strict regulations on guns, it’s way to lenient across much of america, especially what Vicki said mental illness is a huge problem. To eliminate guns in America is nearly impossible

            1. Charlie, I don’t always agree with you, but
you are spot on. I’d rather have zero guns,
but I’d be very pleased with extremely strict background checks in all states and municipalities.

  5. Keep a close eye on the GFS. During the last 6 runs it has started to show more inconsistency. This means it is having trouble resolving a feature, and my instinct tells me that it is over-developing a small upper low just southeast of New England through Saturday, which then throws off the entire run.

Not 100% certain this is the issue, but I highly suspect it is.

  6. Coastal,
I don’t need a gun. That is the argument that proliferates this gun
nonsense. It has to STOP somewhere, unfortunately we have many in
this country that think exactly like you do. It is a sad sad sad state of affairs.

I seriously think I’d be happier in Sweden.

    1. So who stops those 4 men breaking into your home? I’m simply looking for another viable option that stops these men.

Vicki, your stiring the pot when you introduce the word “argument” below my comment. This is a discussion and not argument as you implied.

        1. Read your comment, Coastal. Do you seriously think JPD doesn’t feel responsible for his family? Do you think any of us who want stricter gun laws do not feel as responsible for our family as you and others who support guns do? Not I stirring pot, my friend.

However, your newer wording is much more fair.

The police. Most who break into homes are not armed. You go at them with a gun and you also introduce a gun which can easily be turned on the person in the home or the family, especially if there are four of them against one.

            1. Huh?

Vicki is one of the sanest people on the blog. Take a look in the mirror Coastal.

If Vicki’s a nut, then send over the men in white coats to pick me up!

              1. Hahahaha. But wait…I’m not a nut. Darn all of these years. And I could tell by his inflection that Coastal said it with love.

However, thank you JPD, and if the men in white coats arrive there, please ask them to make the next stop here. We might be Better off πŸ˜‰

                1. I concur. I wouldn’t call Vicki a nut. I’d call her passionate. Coastal always has a way with words, doesn’t he? πŸ˜‰

            2. Blindly passionate at times….so I am a passionate nut that sometimes is a joy. I’ll go with that :). And hi Arod. I have a question. I believe you are a PA? Mac has a new PA that is phenomenal. But I don’t know what to call him. He uses his first name but I do not know if that is appropriate. Although as I say that i realize I am being remarkably sexist as we call the other two PAs (different groups and we know them better) by their first name. I keep wanting to call him Dr XYZ but don’t think that is correct either

    2. When seconds count police are minutes away. Remember that. A gun is a tool like anything else in your house. Most people who are anti-gun (aka afraid of guns) have never used one or even shot one before. Depending on the state to protect you is a fools errand. Certainly unless you are in imminent danger you should call the police but every parent has a responsibility to protect their family or loved ones. Some people choose to exercise their rights and some don’t. I don’t bash those that don’t…its a choice.

    1. I sure hope you are kidding…
He is far too intelligent to endorse that Buffoon.
      Please, please, please be kidding.

      1. If it were the previous election and he endorsed Romney, I could
understand because at least Romney was a viable candidate.

        Trump?????????????????????????????????????????

        C’mon

        1. Nope not kidding. But then Ted Williams supported the Bush’s so I figure it is what it is and doesn’t change the game.

      1. From Christopher Price

Christopher Price ‏@cpriceNFL 32m32 minutes ago
This Brady/Trump stuff is fun, but he didn’t “endorse” Trump. He said it would be “great” if he won the election. #thisiscnn

        1. You are correct – I should NOT have used the word endorse. I do consider his comment support for Trump, however.

  7. Geez politics!! Please don’t like or dislike someone for the political views, everyone has there views, and that’s fine, some of my very best friends are liberal as they come, we leave that to the side. Brady has his views, he’s a great man, that we see, but don’t live our or your life’s through politics. We can all still root for Brady. πŸ™‚

  8. WELCOME TO WOODS HILL POLITICAL AND NAME-CALLING BLOG.

I think I’ll go hang out on the WBZ blog for a while. πŸ˜›

      1. Two times in one day we agree Charlie. I’m feeling a touch of kumbaya here. And TK thought we were squabbling. Silly boy.

    1. And to think that those are the two things Freemason do not allow discussed in a Masonic temple…going back well before our founding. πŸ™‚

  9. And as Scott said…back to weather. We have really had a spectacular summer. This stretch is just more of the same with a few interruptions that really were just a nice change

      1. Words of Niece:

Big tremors in Sanhattan – we are ok everyone back home, in case it made the news….albeit slightly seasick from the aftershocks

  10. Thanks TK!! What a stretch of weather.

I can’t get into the previous discussion. What I will say that anyone supporting Trump is unreal. Brady is endorsing him and that’s sad. Trump is a total racist, bigot etc…. And if you support that man then you support his ideas and beliefs. I lose a lot of respect for Brady if he really is supporting that man. Come get me everyone.

Btw anyone see the kid in Texas get arrested and questioned without a lawyer for brining in a handmade clock. Oh yeah he’s dark and a Muslim so it must be a bomb. Texas police are racists at all.

    1. I dont ever agree that when you support a person or like a person you agree with all he says. That would be impossible.

    2. Like I said above, and it’s known here for folks to dislike folks with different political beliefs. I know many that have different beliefs than myself, and I don’t loose respect for them? This is the problem in America, especially here, everyone is soooo political. Ugh πŸ™‚ goodnight

  11. I think politics should be kept off this weather blog, I even get start it at times myself, but just think it’s better being a wonderful weather blog πŸ™‚

    1. I almost wish politics would just go away, period. It’s getting us nowhere. It would be one thing if people that didn’t agree could work together still, but to spend 90% of your energy just trying to knock someone down because they are not on the same side as you? A waste. Leave that to rugby players… At least they shake hands after the match.

  12. Good morning,

I was pleasantly surprised at how cool it was this morning in between 2 afternoons of high temps near 85F.

Already, the 00z GFS has a suppressed scenario to that mid range system that yesterday implied a lot of rain.

    Have a nice day everyone.

    1. Longer night, clear sky, relatively low dew point. You can tell it’s September and not July. πŸ˜‰

  13. Ok, posted a new blog.

Unfortunately if the comment string for that one turns political, I’ll have to shut comments down for a few days.

We have my father’s wake today and funeral tomorrow, and I am not going to trouble myself having to babysit this place. Maybe not totally fair, but today I honestly don’t care. Have a nice day. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
