Wednesday Forecast

7:25AM

DAYS 1-5 (NOVEMBER 18-22)…
Carrying the same basic ideas forward from yesterday’s discussion with a few minor tweaks for timing. Frosty start this morning and a nice sunny day as high pressure hangs on. Frontal system from the west brings clouds in Thursday, and eventual wet weather but most of that Thursday night into Friday morning before a drying trend from the west later Friday. A mainly dry weekend with a cooling trend though a passing disturbance may cause a rain or snow shower early Sunday.
TODAY: Sunny. Highs in the 40s. Wind light variable.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows in the 30s. Wind light S.
THURSDAY: Partly sunny start eastern areas otherwise mostly cloudy. Late day rain showers possible. Better chance of rain at night. Highs in the 50s then hold there at night.
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy. Periods of rain, especially morning-midday. Temperatures steady in the 50s.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows in the 30s. Highs in the 50s.
SUNDAY: Partly sunny. A rain or snow shower possible early. Lows in the 30s. Highs in the 40s.

DAYS 6-10 (NOVEMBER 23-27)…
Dry and chilly November 23-25 then moderating temperatures November 26-27.

DAYS 11-15 (NOVEMBER 28-DECEMBER 2)…
Indications are for some up and down temperatures, milder than average overall, with no more than a couple minor precipitation events.

  1. Thanks, TK.

The Novembers that stand out in my memory tended to be rainy and cool. I remember a lot of Thanksgivings that were partly sunny and kind of mild. But I also remember a few Novembers when we actually had tornado watches. I think we had one back in 2000 or 2001. In any case, it was pretty wild in OK and KS and other states a few nights ago w/tornadoes at night.

With this drought I have been missing the sound of rain. Looking forward to a possible strong La Nina(hope I spelled that right) next year!

    1. Hi rainshine. I remember a tornado watch in November 2008 (I think – TK always knows 🙂 ). Mac and I were spending the weekend in York and the sky coming in over the ocean was both awesome and scary.

      1. Hi, Vicki – I think I remember that. And that summer of 2008 we had an abundance of thunderstorms. From early June – Sept. , 3 or 4 days a week we had some very strong storms. I think that was the summer there was a tornado somewhere in NH and maybe RI. I remember many afternoons that summer when it would get very dark suddenly and there was nothing on the radar. Then it would pour and the doppler radar would light up w/a pop-up cell.

BTW – I think I’ve mentioned this before. You have my cell number so anytime you want to talk, give me a call. My cell is not always on but leave a message and let me know when would be a good time for me to call you back.

  2. Good morning and thank you TK.

Absolutely spectacular morning. Nice and frosty everywhere. Lawn was white as was the car. It felt so nice to breath in that beautiful crispy air this morning. Perfect
Autumn day! A light jacket, unzipped was all that needed. I love days like this.

    1. I agree. The frost on our back lawn looked like millions of diamonds in the rising sunlight. Invigorating !!

    1. Highlighted the old one but somehow the delete didn’t take.

Also fixed incorrect dates for DAYS 11-15.

  3. As we walked out this morning me and my wife looked at each other, and said its not even winter yet. We said last winter that if we had another bad winter like the last 3 years,, we would leave. We don’t want to leave, so we are hoping for a mild one. We just couldn’t deal and won’t deal with another winter like the previous. I do hope everyone has a great day, finally up to 45 degrees. Ugh!! Enjoy!! 🙂

    1. I won’t be going anywhere either way, but I do hope for an easier winter as well. I wouldn’t mind a big snowstorm during a school vacation and always hope for a white Christmas. But, during school weeks, no snow and temps near 40F or so during late December into Jan and Feb would sit well with me.

  4. Always a good read, the monthly state of the climate report is out from NOAA this morning. Some global highlights:

*October 2015 warmest October on record
*October 2015 most anomolously warm month of any month on record, by 0.07C (September 2015 held the old record).
*Land and ocean temperatures both warmest on record for October
*January-October 2015 is the warmest such period on record
*Northern Hemisphere snow cover 7th largest on record for October, 1.49 million square miles above average, 6th largest in Eurasia and 11th largest in North America

    1. Good info WxWatcher ! They all tie together. Slightly warmer air at higher latitudes will hold more moisture and thus above average snowfall. Earth’s climate check and balance.

    2. Great info – thanks WxWatcher

One year ago today when daughter picked up her older son at school (around 3:00 pm) it was 33 degrees.

  5. The trusty Accuweather 45 Outlook has no snow in Natick for the remainder of 2015. They do, however a sleet>rain scenario for December 17, so plan your travel accordingly!

  6. This low that both the GFS and EURO have during the weekend (I think its around 11/22) seems to be trending deeper and deeper with each run. Seems around 1,000mb or a bit lower as it passes over the Toronto area.

Not a big precip event for us, but maybe wind ???

    1. The thicknesses look just cold enough to support some northern New England snow showers in the mountains, I just don’t know if there will be a lot of moisture.

  7. Although I am truly a “live for today” man, I am happy to report that there are only 8 more minutes to go until we reach the earliest sunsets of the year (4:13 pm in Taunton)!

    1. Yup!! Days are just about as short as they get, we only lose another 30 min’s in the mornings, and 8 min’s as you said in the evenings. 🙂

  8. Wow!!! Doug fluties dad had been sick and passed this morning of a heart attack in the hospital . Less than an hour later his mom had a sudden heart attack and also passed away. So sad.

      1. I met his mom when I volunteered at the Flutie Foundation golf tournament. She was a sweetheart of a woman. So very sad for Doug and his family.

        1. Mac was walking into golf warehouse years ago as Doug was walking out. Mac smiled and said….I know you. Doug stopped and chatted with Mac as if he were an old friend. My heart is aching for him.

    1. It is a real sad story ….

Did I see correctly 56 years of marriage ?

Lets hope they are happily together again somewhere else.

    1. Weekly injection of methotrexate for the treatment of chronic active chrons disease . Do you know any information on this. Thank you. Other medications in past have not worked and they want to try this, sorry Tk bud need the advice .
