Friday Forecast

7:25AM

DAYS 1-5 (NOVEMBER 20-24)…
Front pushes offshore and takes the rain with it during this morning. Small area of high pressure moves in tonight and Saturday with dry weather. Disturbance passes north of the region Sunday as another one tries to develop just to the south and southeast on its trailing frontal system. This will bring more cloudiness for the first half of Sunday with a rain shower risk, then a drying trend again. High pressure will dominate with fair and cool weather Monday and Tuesday.
TODAY: Lingering rain early to mid morning southeastern MA through Cape Cod. Clouds give way to sun. Temperatures cooling slowly through the 50s. Wind variable 5-15 MPH becoming NW 10-20 MPH and gusty.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows in the 20s except 30-35 immediate coast and urban areas. Wind NW 5-15 MPH.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs around 50. Wind W 5-15 MPH.
SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy with passing rain showers AM. Clearing PM. Lows 35-45. Highs 45-55.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows in the 20s. Highs in the 40s.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows upper 10s to upper 20s. Highs in the 40s.

DAYS 6-10 (NOVEMBER 25-29)…
High pressure will bring great travel weather for Wednesday November 25, Thanksgiving Thursday November 26, and “Black Friday” November 27. Fair and mild weather November 28-29.

DAYS 11-15 (NOVEMBER 30-DECEMBER 4)…
A brief period of unsettled weather possible around November 30 otherwise mainly dry pattern continues with temperatures mostly above normal.

  1. Thanks tk 🙂

Other than some cold weather Monday and Tuesday, it warms back up through next week, like I said yesterday and tk has been saying late next week at least mid 50’s for highs are likely, maybe some reaching 60 degrees. We shall see. Enjoy the day everyone. 🙂

    1. Not sure about that 60 right now. Cyclic pattern wants to put high pressure to our north which would result in it being much cooler than that.

  2. Thank you, TK

1.01 rain here overnight. It didn’t sound as windy and rainy as I had expected but it did sound nice. Filtered sun through the rain on the windows is beautiful this am.

I find it amusing that I am still wearing tee shirts in the late part of November.

  3. Good morning and thank you TK.

    Suns out brightly now.

Ukmet still has the storm early next week near the coast.
ALL other guidance is well off shore. 😀

    1. Not that it would snow, just looking more interesting.

Should things go “just’ right, it could actually snow as well.

BUT, most likely it will pass harmlessly out to sea.

Waiting on 12Z runs of GFS and EURO. (secondarily a look at UKMET and CMC)
      😀

  4. Listen to this:::
I love both BC and the fighting Irish, but the eagles got yanked on this deal, the redsox paid the Irish Millions of dollars to have there home game at Fenway park. The Irish got 34,000 tickets, BC got 5,000!!! Also both end zones say Notre Dame fighting Irish. Lol!!! I’m not mad, just embarrassed for the Eagles. Also any Irish fans got many spots for private parking. Geez!!!

    1. And I might add Notre dame’s home stadium has 92,000 seats, so 39,000 seats is like a southern high school football stadium

    1. I see that it’s close,,BUT it’s trending east from the 12z nam run by about 75-100 miles, which is good news IMO 🙂

  5. NAM runs are TOO wet and TOO FAR WEST. Discount them. That system will be a graze/miss.

Brief Editorial: I’ve noticed several social media outlets run by non-meteorologist in the last few weeks spreading information resulting from forecasting what they want to happen, i.e., a turn to a cold/stormy pattern around Thanksgiving and the start of Winter in full force. One of them even called for a white Thanksgiving. There is one glaring problem with such posts: They are made using no application of actual meteorology. Making wishes is easy, but it won’t make you look too competent when your “forecast” blows up.

    1. Problem is, there’s no accountability and consequence for blown up forecasts by these non-mets. People keep coming back for the headlines.

    2. Thank you tk 🙂

I saw a tweet from some suppose news station saying “snow coming to Boston Monday” and then saw some comments that it was a fake Twitter account.

      Thanks for commenting!!! 🙂

    1. Friday and/or Saturday would be the 2 potential days to reach 60 next week. We’ll have to watch a boundary to the north that may sneak down. We’ll have the high pressure aloft, but as you saw the other day, super ridge aloft and the surface high was right of out Canada so instead of 60s, it was 40s. We’ll have to get a little closer to see how it all pans out at the surface.

  6. Winter’s certainly not an adjective or noun to describe our weather this month. However, winter is not that far from us. The upper mid-west – cities such as Milwaukee – is getting a taste of early winter in the form of a decent-sized snowstorm for November. Furthermore, there is some cold air poised to invade the Pacific Northwest. At night, Seattle will get to freezing or just below freezing consistently this upcoming week, with some slushy snow a real possibility on Tuesday. A white Thanksgiving is not likely. But, if it were to occur it would be highly unusual for Seattle, a city known for its rain but not its snow or cold.

  7. El Niño’s effects written all over the 00z GFS.

At the end of the medium range, what does it show ?

Dry northern tier of the U.S. with cold air locked up well to the north in Canada and in the southern U.S., an active southern jet with storminess.
