  1. Tonight is a full moon. Back in 2004 when the Red Sox won the World Series, there was a full moon that night as well. Let us hope that is a good omen for the Bruins! 🙂

    1. wasn’t there a lunar eclipse that night as well? There is an eclipse tonight – not here – and of course I forget where.

  2. I like the idea of tstorms on Friday night and then clearing for Saturday – clearing for Saturday being the key 🙂

  3. What a dumb move by menino not opening the garden on game 7, theres gonna be troublemakers no matter what, asking the bars to all close??? What? Seriously? Then they wonder why our youths move away, menino says family oriented? Please I’m almost 40 yrs old and responsible, they do this in all major cities, why do us good people get hurt most by this, sorry it’s not about weather but sheesh this is crazy, just another reason to move I guess, it’s so sad that the bad people have won, I’ll still be going into a few bars with my wife, but oh yeah we gotta make sure we catch the last train out of the city at 1150pm, what a joke!! Have a good day wveryone

  4. This Bruins-related fact-fest is something I came up with and posted on Facebook earlier.

“A road team is due to win a game in this series. There is one game left. The Red Sox clinched the 2004 ALCS & World Series on the road. The team that has scored more goals over the course of the Stanley Cup Finals has won 19 out of the last 20 series. The Bruins have outscored The Canucks 19-8 through the first six games. 19-8 was the score of the final Red Sox playoff loss in 2004 before winning 8 games in a row on their way to the title. The Bruins scored 8 goals on Cam Neely’s (#8) birthday. The Bruins scored 4 goals the night Bobby Orr (#4) waved the Horton flag. The Red Sox won the W.S. in ’04 + ’07 which when added together are 11. Both the ALCS & W.S. wins in ’04 were on a Wednesday. Things happen in 3’s. And you know what today is. On the night of the Red Sox ’04 W.S. win, there was a total lunar eclipse. Tonight, there is a total lunar eclipse, and 2 countries that will not be able to see it are the USA & Canada. … Oh and probably the greatest thing working in the Bruins favor: Sedin’s guarantee of a Game 7 win for Vancouver. Go Bruins – get it done – bring it home!”

P.S. If you add the digits in today’s date (6-15-2011) you get 16, the number of my favorite B’s player for a long time, Rick Middleton, and then divide that by the Sedin Twins (2) to get Cam Neely (#8) who will be in the arena of the team that traded him to the Bruins. 🙂

    1. My heart says Bruins will win….that annoying voice in my head is telling me something else…….whatever the result, I’m proud of the team and I think the core is going to be around for a while to make them a championship threat for a few seasons to come………beautiful day today, up in southern NH on a field trip and on the extreme western horizon, tall cumulus clouds were forming. I can see by the radar, a few of them have developed into some showers and storms.

  5. Not to be a wet blanket or anything, but if the Bruins do not win tonight it WOULD be a “failure” in a sense because in this new 21st century every Boston team has won their respective championships on their first attempt…Patriots (2002), Red Sox(2004), and Celtics (2008). Even Boston College men’s hockey (2001).

Let us hope we will not have to go “there”…Go Bruins!! 🙂

  6. Championship #7 for our region since 2000…..(Hoping for #8 sometime in late October). Great stuff !! I’ve always watched playoff hockey, but not a lot of regular season hockey. However, I think I will have to tune into more regular season hockey next year………..Looking forward to the nice summer weather today !

    1. And now all 4 Boston teams have won their perspective Championships on their first attempt. This is sweet indeed! 🙂

  7. Woo Bruins! What a great game last night! Thomas was amazing. Such a class act.

Does anyone care to take a stab at Saturday’s weather? I’m in my best friend’s wedding that afternoon. I’m praying for a total lack of humidity/rain so our hair and shoes don’t get ruined. 🙂

    1. Probably only moderately humid, but certainly not bone-dry. I figure a 1 in 3 shot of a pop up shower and possibly a thunderstorm with just enough instability around. Good luck! 🙂

  8. 🙂 1929 🙂 1939 🙂 1941 🙂 1970 🙂 1972 🙂 2011

The B’s Rolling Rally will take place this Saturday at 11:00 am! 🙂

  9. What a great game!!!

I’m having a little trouble convincing everyone that Boston is having a parade in honor of my birthday on Saturday but I keep trying.

And speaking of Saturday – can anyone tell me what his best guess is for mid afternoon through evening weatherwise? Thank you

  10. Not seeing any severe weather tomorrow should thunderstorms develop so I am only going with a 1 on the 1-4 thunderstorm index which is MINOR.
