  1. re: Tuesday

GFS brings some instability at the about the correct time.
    Euro, timing way off.

    We shall see.

  2. Thanks TK.
    Boring weather pattern continues.
6z GFS hinting at instability for storms on Tuesday. We shall see.

  3. I agree.
This model was so bad with the past system that did not affect us and the only one to bring instability for SNE. The NAM as much as I knock it on Monday was actually good projecting the instability would stay in the Mid Atlantic region for that system.

    1. I just let my lawn go a couple of days and I got brown spots.
Until this dry weather breaks I am watering every day.

      1. Yea im trying to keep up with it this summer too. The problem with my lawn is, if i give in to nature and just let it go dormant it will become littered with weeds and make it that much more difficult to rehab it in the fall when I want to overseed. If I get caught watering, so be it. Its only a warning first offence and a $25 fine second offense. Plus, no one in my neighborhood cares either way.

  4. Six months from tonight Santa arrives!! And nope, not rushing it. I just believe (to quote my mom) anticipation is half the joy!

  5. Boston buoy (16 nm East of Boston), current water temperature:

    Water Temperature (WTMP): 63.1 °F

  6. So what was all this talk I was hearing about a repeat of June 2009? That June and this June could not be more opposite.

    1. It’s a weather blog, we talk and sometime we are full of shit. Deal with it. 😀 😀 😀

  7. June 2009 a lot of days spent tracking thunderstorms. This June very little in thunderstorm activity so far with the exception of the other morning where a few areas saw some storms.

  8. 73.6 here. Feeling the effects of that sea Breeze.

69 at the airport, wind East at 11.5 mph.

    77 Norwood
    78 Bedford
    79 Taunton
    81 Westfield

    1. We were pretty chilly right at the beach yesterday, but literally 2 miles inland, it was noticeably milder.

I’ve gotten into the ocean the last 2 days and it’s not too bad. It initially feels cold, but after 5 minutes, your ankles don’t hurt and you can kind of adjust to it. It does feel as though the 60F+ water out at the 16NM buoy has made it to shore.

  9. If the 12z EURO is a reasonable run, then the overall wonderful weather continues on and on.

Save for a couple days in the middle of the 10 day period, the humidity should be low and temps should be pleasantly warm.

  10. 85.6 with 52 DP. Breeze that was fairly nonexistent has just picked up.

Did someone say a bit ago that June sucks? 🙂 🙂 🙂

    1. Early June usually does. The last third after the solstice is usually pretty decent.

  11. Nine holes of golf with a friend from high school days. What a gorgeous night. Played from 5 pm to 7. Saw half dozen rabbits and deer on the 4th hole. Does not get any better. (Certainly is dry, though)

  12. Is there any way to predict if there will be a “good” sunrise (or sunset) on a given day? I’m setting my alarm for a dawn walk on the beach in Yarmouth tomorrow. I’ve often wondered if there are any signs/maps/atmospheric factors that would give a heads up to a particularly colorful sky.

    1. Every scenario is probably unique and so these are not absolute guarantees.

Days with cirrus (high, thin cloudiness)
Surface winds from the southwest (importing Midwest pollution)
      Unhealthy air quality alerts
Mention in the news of ongoing Canadian or western U.S. Forest fires

      1. I would also like to believe that a beautiful sunrise or sunset can be the result of a deep blue cloud-free sky as well. 😀
