  1. I do wonder what the 00z EURO projects for high temps on day 10 of its op run.

It has a (500mb) 585 dm contour over southern New England, 850mb temps of 18 to 20C and what appears to be SW flow at the surface.

    1. It only has mid-upper 70s. Well my service has the temperature grids for
12Z and 0Z. I have no clue what it was in bewtween, but 0Z still had mid-upper
70s, so perhaps highs low 80s?? That will change. 😀

      1. What wxwatcher posted is most likely more accurate.

I do not like they way the service I have represents temperatures.

Please do not shoot the messenger.

        1. Never would JpDave 🙂 🙂

So, putting that all together, it would imply mid-upper 70s in early morning and late evening, peaking above 90F in the mid afternoon ??? Again, just 1 runs projection, but those temps and 500mb heights caught my eye. Those view would be impressive in July.

          1. Don’t need 90s just yet. I’ll take mid-80s but leave those stinken 90s to other parts of the country.

            NO 90s! No 90s! NO 90s! NO 90s!!!!!!!!

            1. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

If this ever happened or there is a warmup, current timing might center it on NEXT weekend, so at least we can all head to the cooler coastline if it did get that hot.
It would be a case where it’s 90F inland and probably 70F by the cape cod bridges. it can be a nice day trip down into that general area.

              1. Don’t want to install the window AC units this early in the Summer!

I sincerely hope this is like a Winter tease where the model shows a big snow event 10 days out only to have it go poof.

I command you, 90s go POOF!

                1. I’m sure it is exactly that and the 12z op run will be different, or at least have the max warmup in a slightly different location, which I believe is what the euro has been doing. But I do think it’s been consistent for a day or 2 now signaling a warmup in the long range.

                2. Do you recall the earliest you have installed window ACs, JPD? We had a lot of heat on Patriots day about five years ago. Then in April in early 2000s…can’t recall year.

  2. I don’t generally install the window AC units until June or even July, depending
on the weather patterns. I take them out around Labor day. We prefer to have the
outside air circulating the best we can whenever possible.

    1. Thanks JPD. I also love the outside air. I think 90 at this time of year (if we hit it) is short lived and also seems to not be the same 90 as we have in summer. And yes, that may be a bit of perception. However, even when we were in the 80s last week, the breeze was cooler. I’m thinking it cools as it comes over the cooler ground. Maybe not.

  3. i was thinking a normal/cool/damp spring was going to happen sooner or later.. its keeping the allergies at bay with the consistant cleansing

    1. A stretch or 2 like this was mentioned in a month that I think will end up + on temp overall and – on precip.

    1. Perfect time to ask why people say cricket when it is quiet. They are noisy creatures 😉

  4. Taking 40 7th graders to D.C. next week–we are entirely on foot or the Metro–is Monday/Tuesday going to be as dismal as NWS predicts?

    1. My son & wife on that trip now . Yesterday & today was hot . They are at Camden yards now and the Red Sox are playing . Can’t wait to see them again as I really miss them . Be prepared for a ridiculous long days

    1. Bruins basically had to score 3 times in OT to win that…
One legit goal taken away by officials incompetence. One penalty shot taken away by the same reason (may or may not have been a goal but we’ll count it). The the goal that the refs couldn’t find a way to take away so it had to stand. 😉

C’s. I’ll give them credit for no-quit. I’m not really a basketball fan and I think the NBA is a joke. It was good back in the 1980s then started to go downhill.

Sox? No worries. Long season. They’ll struggle at times. They’ll also win a lot of games. Should be a fun season.

      1. It’s funny….I kind of agree about the NBA. There are too many 3 point shots taken and the inside game is not what it used to be but it doesn’t seem to be quite as watered down as hockey does (imho). Both the NBA and NHL have an equal number of teams but with the NBA each team has about 8 less players than an NHL team does. I also feel that there are more basketball players in the world than hockey players..hence my feeling that the NHL is watered down. The last time I was really interested in the B’s was back in the day (early 90s) when they had Adam Oates, Joe Juneau, Neeley, Borque, Donato, Moog and Lemelin to name a few. And finally who puts a major league sports franchise in Columbus Ohio…always been a minor league city for any sport. All that being said playoff hockey is still great and unlike the NBA (where most games are decided in the last 5 or 10 minutes imho)- playoff hockey is 60 minutes of action.

        1. I generally agree. I was Never a basketball fan, perhaps because I could not play the game, even though at least for High School, I was plenty tall enough (6-2). I didn’t like it so never tried to get good at it. Oh well.

Now Hockey, that’s a different story. I played hockey
all of the time, even when the ice wasn’t safe. Got wet many times. 😀 At the time, our High School did not
have Hockey as a sport. We had a team and joined a league.

I played hockey in leagues and pick up games until age 30. One night my skate caught a crack in the ice and I went down and nearly broke my neck. With a child at home, it was time to hang up those skates.

Other then a brief stint several years ago when they
won, I haven’t been a fan since the days of Bobby Orr.
We used to get tickets for the 2nd balcony at the Garden’
for next to nothing and attend many games. That was long ago. That said, I did watch some of the game last night.

Although unlikely, the Bruins still could win this series.

          1. 30 years ago, I played in a golf tournament at Brae Burn Country Club and got to play 18 holes with Don Marcotte, a great golfer and one heck of a nice guy.

            1. It’s funny I can go back from memory and I can tell you who wore what numbers from that 1970 Stanley Cup team…couldn’t tell you hardly (if any) of today’s Bruins. Man I sound old LOL.

I Know I’ve missed a few part time players. Not sure if anyone remembers but Ace Bailey was on board one of the jets that crashed into the WTC on 9/11.

    1. Don’t think you missed much and yes I remember that Ace Bailey was on that plane. Good memory. I could not have put that together. Saw all of those guys play.

    2. What was Teddie Green’s last year? I remember he practically got his skull caved in and was never the same.

      1. He was involved in a stick swinging incident with Wayne Maki of the St. Louis Blues in preseason. He had serious head injury. Came back to play for the B’s for a year or two and then moved on to the New England Whalers for a few years iirc. I also remember the year the Bruins, Whalers (who won the first WHA championship..I was there..called the Avco Cup) and the Boston Braves of AHL all played in the Garden and sold out just about every game. At that time the garden was owned by the Bruins and as a result the Whalers and the Celtics got some of the worst times and days for their games.

        1. Now that I think about it I might have been there for the AHL championship game that year and not the Avco cup…once again getting old.
