Wednesday Forecast

2:33AM

DAYS 1-5 (OCTOBER 11-15)
A disturbance from the west sends cloudiness and eventually some patches of light rain into parts of southern New England through tonight before being pushed to the south by dominant high pressure re-building over the region. This high will continue to dominate even into the weekend, but its positioning being slightly further east by then will allow some increase in humidity.
TODAY: Increasing clouds. Highs 62-67. Wind light NE.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy evening with a slight chance of light rain. Clearing north to south overnight. Lows 50-55. Wind light NE.
THURSDAY: Sunny to partly cloudy. Highs 57-63. Wind NE to N 5-15 MPH.
FRIDAY: Sunny. Lows from the upper 30s to middle 40s, coldest interior valleys. Highs in the 60s.
SATURDAY: Partly sunny. Risk of showers South Coast. Lows from the middle 40s to lower 50s. Highs from the upper 60s to middle 70s.
SUNDAY: Partly cloudy. Lows in the 50s. Highs in the 70s.

DAYS 6-10 (OCTOBER 16-20)
Cold front passing through may bring brief showers October 16 followed by fair slightly cooler weather for the balance of the period.

DAYS 11-15 (OCTOBER 21-25)
There may be an increased rain risk before this period is over, but low confidence forecast at this time.

      1. I just heard a while ago! YES!!!! The news made my Day!!

Now let’s see if they SCREW up the next choice. They best make it a good one, else we’ll be back in the exact same place
        again next year.

    1. Had to be done. I’m surprised it was so quick but I guess they don’t want to waste any time finding a new one. Word on the street former red sox Jason Varitek and Alex Cora are the frontrunners

    2. I wouldn’t want to be the next manager ….

5 years, 1 World Series title, 3 AL East Division Titles with teams that weren’t ever close to the talent level of other playoff teams.

So, the next manager has to win at least an ALDS ??? I hope dombroski improves the roster a lot more.

  1. No surprise Farrell was fired. Team with the talent it has having two early round exits is not good enough.
If the Yankees get eliminated tonight will all be wondering if Joe Girardi is back next season since this is the last year of his contract. If he decides not to return or the team decides to move on Joe Girardi will have a managerial job very quickly if he wants to manage.

    1. Although Girardi screwed up royally in a recent game, I still find him
to be far superior to dumb-ass Farrell. I wouldn’t mind them naming him
      the next manager.

      1. I agree. Should Girardi become available the Red Sox should definitely sign him up…couldn’t be any worse.

  2. He will get offers if the Yankees decide not to bring him back or he leaves on his own. When asked about his future with Yankees his response whatever happens happens. This guy will manage again if he chooses to or he might go back and work in television which he did for a few years after the Marlins fired him which was a joke with not talent on that team he led them to over 70 wins in 2006.

  3. I wish that whoever becomes the manager that the tradition of celebration with champagne for a division clinching stops. Unfortunately we are in a nation in which “everybody gets a trophy” etc.

IMHO champagne should be reserved for AL/NL Championships and World Series.

    1. Thanks JJ.

We shall see as I always say. But this seems somewhat consistent with
what TK had been saying and in TK I trust. πŸ˜€

  4. JPDave when I read the article weatheroptics and TK seem be on the same page.
Will see if TK still feels this way.

  5. Glad Farrell is out! Unfortunately for the Sox, I think the Yankees are poised to dominate the AL East for years to come. This was a transitional year for them and they’ve already exceeded expectations (and will probably their current series). MLB is all about power hitting in today’s game. Yanks have it. Sox don’t.

Nice day out there. Loving the lower dew points!

  6. Speaking of the Yankees I favor them tonight. Indians too me are going to be playing tight since and the Yankees are playing with house money.
I do agree with you WeatherWxwatcher on you assessment on the Yankees. It feels like the Yankees COULD be on another run like they were when they won 4 out 5 World Series from 1996-2000. The baby bombers Judge and Sanchez have certainly produced. Greg Byrd who was injured most of the year has been a big contributor for the Yankees last month of the season.

    1. Don’t count the Sox out. IF and I do say a big IF, they hire the right manager
and add just the right assets, they will give anyone a solid run for their money.

      Do not count them out.

  7. Good evaporational cooling event here in Plymouth, NH this afternoon and early evening. Was quite nice earlier with a high in the low 60s and very dry air. Clouds moved in around 4:00, and the rain followed an hour later. We’re down to 51 now. Wet and raw. Radar will tend to overestimate rain totals in an event like this, with many of the echoes seen not reaching the ground.

  8. Did anyone catch that the new person nominated to run NOAA is the CEO of Accuweather. Not a good nomination, as he’s not a scientist or a meteorologist.
