Wednesday Forecast

7:09AM

DAYS 1-5 (APRIL 25-29)
Low pressure tracks northeastward from the Mid Atlantic through southern New England today through early Thursday with unsettled weather which will include some moderate to heavy rain showers mainly this afternoon and evening, including the risk of some thunder as well. Improving weather arrives later Thursday but another low pressure area, this one smaller, will race northeastward and bring another rain threat later Friday into Friday evening. A cold front charges across the region from west to east Saturday but will be starved for moisture and present only the threat of a passing rain shower. It will open the door for a shot of chilly fair from Canada Saturday night and Sunday. Forecast details…
TODAY: Overcast. A couple periods of light rain possible morning. Numerous rain showers, some heavy, and possible thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs 52-58. Wind SE to S 10-20 MPH.
TONIGHT: Cloudy. Scattered showers. Patchy fog. Lows 44-50. Wind S to SW 5-15 MPH.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy to partly sunny. Chance of rain showers early. Highs 55-63, coolest South Coast. Wind SW to W 10-20 MPH.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 39-46. Wind W 5-15 MPH, diminishing.
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy. Chance of rain afternoon and evening. Highs 56-64, coolest coastal areas. Wind variable 5-15 MPH.
SATURDAY: Partly cloudy and breezy. Slight risk of a passing rain shower. Lows from the upper 40s to middle 50s. Highs in the 60s.
SUNDAY: Partly cloudy and windy. Lows from the upper 30s to lower 40s. Highs in the 50s.

DAYS 6-10 (APRIL 30-MAY 4)
Surface high pressure crosses the region April 30 with a fair cold start and milder finish. A large high pressure ridge builds over the East Coast to start May with fair weather and above to much above normal temperatures, but a front may get close by late period with a rain shower or thunderstorm risk.

DAYS 11-15 (MAY 5-9)
Watching for a front in the area early period with a risk of rain showers and to determine if it will remain anomalously warm or cool off a bit. More unsettled weather is expected mid period with dry and cooler weather late period.

  1. Good morning and thank you TK.
wondering if today’s rain under achieves.
not looking impressive at the moment and I don’t mean just here. well to the sw not impressive. could change of course

    1. These words are great. I often wonder if God doesn’t look down and wonder if it is time for a second flood.

In sorting through boxes that moved here with me, I just came across a lot of children’s books. One was Brother Eagle, Sister Sky that I gave to my three in 1991. I just realized as I looked through it that it is signed by the author to my three.

        1. Thank you but I lied. It is signed by the woman who illustrated it and not the author. The author of course is Chief Seattle. An amazingly wise and farsighted individual.

          1. Yes, of course. Just makes it a bit easier
to get my work done when the weather is benign.

I did get much accomplished today. I am pretty
much done for the day. πŸ˜€

  2. Wow , I’m you all have heard Lana Jones on WBZ doing reporting for us all over the pants many years. She passed away suddenly. I loved her voice and how she reported.

    1. I did Aidan. Very sad. She collapsed at home suddenly and died at the hospital early Wed morning. She had just worked on Tuesday. She was just 62. Very sad. Her reporting was top notch.

  3. JP Dave, Yes, I read that as well. Generally snowstorms in the far north are not all that moisture-laden. It would be unheard of in Kimmirut to have a 20 inch snowstorm, for example. This said, they do get lots of wind. Hence, blizzard conditions in spite of not a lot of snow. I would be stir crazy living up there. I like winter, but to basically have it 9-10 months a year would drive me up a wall.

  4. Aidan, Indeed Lana Jones had a great voice (I love good radio voices) and was such a bright person. Very sad news.

JP Dave, on WBZ she would do all kinds of news stories.

    1. Charlie Austin (WBZ-TV), Gil Santos…now Lana Jones. πŸ™

Celebrity deaths tend to be in threes. I have always found that interesting.

    1. Anderson is starting to question himself. But I’d really love a 2 goal lead right now.

      1. By many πŸ™‚

I did predict 7 games several days ago… always felt they would pull it out though. Tonight’s pace of play suited them perfectly.

      2. I saw a ton of negativity.

To be fair, they did not play well for 2 straight games. It’s on the team. Tuukka Rask blamed himself for one of those games, which is probably fair.

Tonight, he gave up 4 goals. 2 of them he should have stopped. But he was better tonight, and the team reverted to their old form.

I’d never give up on this team. Tonight, they proved they can win with their backs against the wall.

        1. I recall you both standing by them. I like when a player takes responsibility. We all have off days. Says a ton about his character

  5. Very entertaining game last night and glad the Bruins continue on !!!

In addition to Bruins/Lightning, I am really looking forward to Penguins/Capitals.
