Tuesday Forecast

7:02AM

DAYS 1-5 (MAY 22-26)
A disturbance will move into the region today and exit later tonight, bringing an episode of wet weather later today into this evening. Another disturbance moving down from the northwest will bring the opportunity for a passing shower or even thunderstorm later Wednesday. High pressure will overtake the region Thursday and Friday, with this area on the cooler side of it including help from the ocean Thursday, then the warmer side Friday into the start of the holiday weekend Saturday as it sinks to the south. But a cold front approaches from the north later Saturday with a renewed shower and thunderstorm threat. Forecast details…
TODAY: Thickening overcast morning. Cloudy with areas of light rain this afternoon. Highs 66-72. Wind S up to 10 MPH.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Areas of rain early. A passing shower late. Patchy fog. Lows 53-59. Wind SW up to 10 MPH.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy early then partly cloudy with a passing late day or evening shower or thunderstorm possible. Highs 68-76. Wind NW 5-15 MPH shifting to NE late.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Variably cloudy with a possible shower early, then clearing. Lows 48-54. Wind NE 5-15 MPH.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny but partly sunny for a while Cape Cod. Highs 58-65 coast, coolest Cape Cod, 66-72 interior. Wind NE to E 5-15 MPH.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows in the 50s. Highs upper 60s to middle 70s coast, upper 70s to lower 80s interior.
SATURDAY: Partly sunny. Late day shower or thunderstorm possible. Lows in the 60s. Highs in the 80s except 70s some coastal areas.

DAYS 6-10 (MAY 27-31)
Current call for the remainder of the holiday weekend is for a lot of clouds and possibly a shower Sunday May 27, but more sun north later as a cold front sinks south of the region. Front hangs south of the region Memorial Day Monday May 28 with some cloudiness but dry weather. Front comes back to the north May 29 with a rain risk, somewhat dependent on how much tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico gets involved. A front brings passing showers then a shot of cooler air the last couple days of May.

DAYS 11-15 (JUNE 1-5)
Fair and warmer to start the period then unsettled and cooler weather follows this.

  1. Good morning and thank you TK.

Another birthday? Happy Birthday Hadi. Please have a most enjoyable day!

  2. Getting dark with rain right over Boston on radar but no drops falling from what I can tell. I assume very dry air above for now.

        1. I have been thinking the same thing, like Mount St. Helens in 1980 effected our climate the following winter.

And I can’t understand the Hawaiian tourist industry encouraging potential visitors to still come. If it was me I would cancel those plans in a heartbeat.

            1. It would still be too close for comfort for me anyway. Not to mention the likelyhood of earthquakes for the entire chain area. No thanks. I would wait until that lava mess is completely done if it took another year from now.

    1. Interesting and thanks. Currently I have been binge watching the 4400.
The 4400 is a show that is right up my ally. 😀

    1. In one sense, could well be. As long as we celebrate those we are remembering, Weather takes a far back seat.

      1. I agree its about celebrating and remembering those who served, but its still ok to want nice weather too 😎

  3. Good grief!!!!

New England Spring Weather Blows chunks!!

    1. I assume those temps for Sunday are for nighttime. Still, that’s very chilly for late May.

    2. Daughter and I were at a local garden center yesterday and a lot of flowers they typically have out by now were still in the greenhouses where the roof could be open during the day but closed to protect from cold at night.

  4. looks to me that time is stamped as 12z Sunday for the first one (which would mean 8am)…The second one stamped as 00z Monday (which would mean 8pm on Sunday).

  5. Yep, the 12z GFS today is not nearly as nice as yesterday. 90 degree scorcher inland on Saturday, showery and 50’s on Sunday, then 60’s on Memorial Day and it looks like the shower chances remain, especially south.

  6. JPD. I don’t know if they stock some of the water areas in Sutton but noticed about a dozen big white cylindrical looking things on the side of the water near my house. I wondered if that could be what they are doing. Do you know if they use containers of some sort?

      1. Thanks JPD. I saw some heavy duty machines there last night so have no idea what they are doing.

I also saw a man with several nice size fish….looked to be bass.

  7. We might complain about this cool and wet weather, but I rather this than extreme heat and drought.

    1. I’m still seeing this mass mentality that when we get 1 or 2 cool and/or wet days that many think it’s been going on for weeks.

May has been mild & dry overall. 🙂

    1. OK, this link works.
This app has way more cities, has the HREF link
and uses Yahoo weather for the data feed.

      1. Thank you. I have to run a test with this a bit later today. My new phone is awesome but it’s had a couple of odd behaviors. Seems the biggest one is with linking email though.

  8. New post and also an announcement that I’m going to step up deletion of unrelated comments. Thanks and have a nice day. 🙂
