Upper level low pressure will continue to dominate the Northeast well into next week. But a drier slot of air at the surface will provide a little bit of a break for today after yesterday’s very wet and cool day. Some sunshine today will boost temperatures into the 70s but the air will be unstable enough that some showers and thunderstorms may pop up during the afternoon. This brief break will be short lived, as the entire upper level low will shift southeastward and pull the moisture from today back down across southern New England Monday, which will turn out to be a very wet and chilly day. Improvement after this will be very slow heading through midweek.<\/p>\n

More clouds returning from the west later and a slight chance of a few showers or even an isolated thunderstorm late day. High 72-77 but 60s Cape Cod and Islands. Wind NW 5-15 MPH with higher gusts.<\/p>\n
