A cold front comes through with little fanfare other than a wind shift and lowering dew points, but this allows for the warming as the air moves down off the hills and mountains and dries out, which results in warming. High pressure builds toward the region Wednesday with mild weather and a land breeze, but the high pressure area moves over the region Wednesday night and Thursday with lighter winds. This allows for a coastal sea breeze and a larger temperature contrast between the coast and inland areas on Thursday. Additionally, some clouds move in Thursday ahead of a warm front. At worst, this front can bring some brief light rainfall to northern MA and southern NH late Thursday or Thursday night, before we find ourselves in the warm sector Friday with fair weather and above normal temperatures. However, our next trough and low pressure system and its accompanying cold front will move toward the region Friday night and Saturday with some unsettled weather. What&#8217;s left to figure out is timing and how long the rain threat will last, but for now plan on an unsettled start to the final weekend of April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TODAY: Cloudy start with areas of fog as any lingering rain showers exit.
