Yes, there were areas of drizzle and showers yesterday while the bulk of steadier, heavier rainfall stayed offshore to our southeast. This morning, a batch of rain and embedded thunder is moving through southwestern New England as of sunrise and will slowly start to shrink as it moves northeastward into and across the WHW forecast area this morning and midday. Behind this area we see some partial clearing which can fuel the atmosphere for some isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms later in the day. While coverage will be limited, we do have to watch for isolated occurrences of stronger to possibly severe storms before activity diminishes with the setting sun. A broad trough of low pressure, as previously mentioned, still needs to make its way across our region from west to east through Tuesday. This keeps the chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the forecast for Monday afternoon and an additional shower chance Tuesday, with activity both of those days more likely west and north of Boston. High pressure builds in with wonderful summer weather Wednesday into Thursday, but we need to watch for the potential for a shower or thunderstorm by later Thursday, at least in western areas, with the approach of our next trough \/ disturbance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TODAY: Generally cloudy morning with showers and a possible thunderstorm moving southwest to northeast across the region, diminishing in coverage with time.
