There was enough drying behind that disturbance for breaks in the clouds last night despite areas of low clouds and fog (which will dissipate this morning), and clouds can still break for sun at times during the day today. The next round of rainfall, the remains of an upstream storm complex, will pass through our region late tonight and be largely offshore by sunrise Thursday. That day, warmer, more humid air does get in, and with upper level low pressure overhead and a frontal boundary having been pushed north of the region but still having to sag back through to the south, we can see a few showers and thunderstorms that afternoon. Friday’s outlook is largely the same, with upper low pressure lingering and a chance of a pop-up shower, otherwise a drier, cooler trend. Labor Day Weekend’s first and second day are looking decent.
