The next wave of low pressure will pass south of New England early Friday, sending a shield of rain into southern New England which will arrive during Thursday. The track of this low will be far enough south and development just slow enough to spare the region of the heaviest rain potential. Who would have thought just a few weeks back that we’d be wanting rain to miss us, as we were in a significant rainfall deficit in much of the region. Mother Nature can turn things around in a hurry, and has, giving us a cool\/wet pattern so far in June. So despite some bad weather, it will be a better scenario than what may have been. In either case, by later Friday it will be drying out and this will lead to a weekend that will be pretty spectacular, at least for most of it, as high pressure builds in. The next weather system will be approaching from the west by the very end of the weekend, but the majority of Father’s Day should be nice before clouds roll in and lead to a shower threat at night and into the first of next week.<\/p>\n
As far as the specifics from the Thursday PM to Friday AM storm:<\/p>\n
Rain… 1 to 2 inches, heaviest south of the Mass Pike.
