\nHigh altitude smoke and a return of very warm to hot air will make today a classic late Summer day. However, an interruption comes Thursday as a pretty strong cold front slides down from the north as high pressure builds across eastern Canada. More clouds will develop and there may be a few showers and thunderstorms around, though probably more the exception than the rule. What nobody will miss is the flip to cooler air at night through Friday. As Labor Day weekend gets underway Saturday, it will start on the cool side but be pleasant by Saturday afternoon, then a warm up will be well underway by Sunday as high pressure that had come down from the north moves overhead then off to the south.
