DAYS 1-5 (JANUARY 18-22)
\nElongated low pressure hangs around through tonight then departs Thursday, taking its lingering wet weather with it. Watch for a few icy patches as the temperature will hover near or slightly below freezing especially in areas north and west of Boston through the night. High pressure builds over the region by Friday and tries to hold into the weekend. This will shield the region from one approaching low pressure area that will only manage to send some clouds in Saturday, but the precipitation will never make it. It will also keep the region fair on Sunday, so not a bad weekend overall.
\nREMAINDER OF AFTERNOON \/ EVENING: Overcast. Areas of fog. Drizzle likely. Areas of light rain, possible rain\/snow mix north of Boston. Temperatures steady 31-36 north and west of Boston, 37-42 Boston south. Wind light E to N.
\nOVERNIGHT: Cloudy. Patchy fog and drizzle. Chance of a rain\/snow shower mainly northeastern MA and southern NH. Temperatures steady 31-36 northwest, 37-42 southeast. Wind light N to NW.
