Delta just canceled my October flight and changed the itinerary to something that is useless: I’d arrive Saturday afternoon in London and have to return Sunday morning. And even that is unlikely as the UK is probably going to maintain the 14-day mandatory quarantine for U.S. travelers indefinitely, since we do not have the virus under control. Nightmare, actually. I cannot visit my daughter this year. My son probably can’t visit his mother in the Netherlands this year. This is partly due to our federal government’s incompetence: Inability to control the darn virus.
Just so you know, Delta has cancelled 80% of its international flights. The airline also knows that it’s not returning to anything close to normal for a long, long time.
In Europe travel is more or less open for Europeans, because the virus is largely under control there. There are a few outbreaks, but with strict monitoring and contact tracing systems in place it’s a totally different situation from the U.S.
Joshua my heart aches. For you and your son and so many. My swedish friend in NYC will not go home to Sweden this summer either to see her sisters and they lost both mom and dad this year….not covid related but still.
And it is unquestionably due in good part to our governments mishandling of covid.
I miss my sister In law every …single…..day. But I thank God she is no longer flying…domestic and international. Instead she is flying the heavens
Delta changed ours yesterday for August and put one of the four of us on a totally separate flight. I called them immediately and am still waiting for them to resolve. You can’t start separating families…..
C-19 for 6-22 is up…
