  1. According to a new study published in the Oxford Academic, a new coronavirus was passed from dogs to humans in Malaysia in 2017 and 2018. It could be the eighth coronavirus known to cause disease in humans if confirmed as a pathogen. Most patients were children living in rural areas with frequent exposure to domesticated animals and wildlife.
According to the Veterinary Centers of America, canine coronavirus can cause considerable abdominal pain for dogs including diarrhea, lethargy and decreased appetite. There is no specific treatment though it is short lived. Dogs may be carriers of the disease for up to six months after infection.

Joshua, is it possible that pets will now have to be monitored for Covid?

  2. This is copied from an article

Rhode Island is now the eighth state to have administered at least one Covid-19 shot to 70% of its adult population, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The state joins Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Vermont, which have also vaccinated at least 70% of their adult population.

    1. We are relaxing restrictions FAR TOO EARLY.
This is assine!!! Some people just don’t have a brain.
We are at least 2 months premature with this relaxation
of restrictions. Simply not time yet!

    2. No surprise RED states are doing that I suppose. I hope officials won’t actually fine and/or arrest those who still choose to wear a mask, even after the pandemic ends.

  3. There is zero mitigation at this point, not that there was much a few months ago. The vaccination rate is a really good thing, and so we’ve dodged the B117 bullet. We could still dodge the other bullets that SARS-CoV-2 has in store for us. But, I believe that what will happen is our decline in cases nationwide will stall out at a fairly low level, say, 15-20k per day. Enough for the virus to hang around, and then with waning immunity from the vaccines and previous infections we could be in a precarious position in late fall, early winter. I hope not.
