  1. Thanks TK.

Sorry not much traffic on this end lately. Between the school shootings, Ukraine and monkeypox, Covid-19 is pretty much off the media table for now. Maybe a sign that the pandemic is close to coming to an end? Or wishful thinking?

    1. I’d love to think that is the case.

I simply cannot yet more happening in our country each day so am trying to stay positive

      1. I see fewer and fewer folks wearing masks now in grocery stores and public transit. This includes workers/operators as well.

I will say this, the few times I see any Covid-19 stats for MA lately, the trends are always DOWN! Maybe there is serious hope here?

        1. The trend is downward, as I’ve mentioned several times. But the numbers aren’t great. Hopefully things will improve rapidly as we enter the summer period. There is, however, a problem of a high baseline from which numbers can easily climb this fall. By then it will be mostly BA.5. I’m still hopeful that we’ve not only turned the corner but have closed off most of the virus’s ways to wreak havoc, through high levels of natural immunity and vaccinations.

On monkeypox, Gottlieb is thinking along the lines of what I was last week. https://twitter.com/ScottGottliebMD/status/1533596312263860225

  2. Interesting tweet. I admit to not keeping up. We don’t have an omicron specific vaccine/booster??

I was scheduled to have my second foster next Wednesday. I cancelled. I’m at six months exactly and know the first booster was advised between 6-8.

If I have one now, I’m not eligible until December earliest. That seems like bad timing for the vaccine efficacy to be waning, so I am thinking maybe get my next late August

  3. Two people close to me tested positive last week and both had mild to moderate flu-like symptoms. It was caught quickly and they have both quarantined properly and are both recovering, albeit a bit slowly as each one of them suffers additional health issues (not life-threatening, just things that can prolong recovery from anything, even the common cold).

Everybody who was remotely near them, including myself, have tested negative two or three times since then, so thankfully it was stopped in that very small circle.

    With that said…
