  1. The New York State Department of Health says a case of polio in Rockland County has been confirmed and is calling on health care practitioners to be on the look out for additional possible cases. It is the first case since 1979.

The anti-vax movement is detrimental to the health of our children and others. I am not so much talking about being opposed to giving infants a Covid-19 vaccine, because I get the concerns there. I am talking about traditional childhood vaccines. With more and more local jurisdictions in states in our South and in the Plains removing ALL vaccine mandates, this will become a major issue. We don’t want outbreaks of diphtheria, polio, rubella, hepatitis B, and measles. What bothers me to no end is that in many of these local jurisdictions the political leaders claim to be “pro-life.” Really insane stuff.

    1. Correction or clarification. First polio case in NY State since 1979. First polio case in a decade in the U.S.
