  1. Appalled at Judge Reed O’Connor’s ruling striking down mandatory coverage of preventive services (some of which save lives). I’ll probably get admonished for this piece by some – and perhaps the Forbes editorial board – but I’ve really had it with these ignorant judges who live in their own almost medieval world. https://www.forbes.com/sites/joshuacohen/2022/09/09/judge-reed-oconnors-ruling-on-obamacares-requirement-to-cover-preventive-care-reveals-an-implicitly-pro-death-stance/

  2. Judge Reed O’Connor makes my blood boil. He claims to be a Christian. Well, Christians are supposed to live by the motto “We are our brother’s keeper.” This means that our well-being is bound to the well-being of others. And this includes those who don’t share our beliefs.

O’Connor is opposed to anything that can be construed as a mandate from government, even if it saves lives: From any measure to control guns, to Covid-19 vaccines, to masks, preventive care services like PrEP, HPV vaccines, and illicit drug use screening and counseling. The only time O’Connor is in favor of government mandates is when it suits his so-called “pro-life” position on abortion, or his anti-critical race theory viewpoint.

The man is a menace to society. He’s pro-death.

      1. That’s a great question.

The latest shot is tailored to the BA.4 and BA.5 variants, but obviously not to any newer sub-variant. So, it would depend on whether BJ.1 has a similar molecular composition. Apparently, BA.2.75 does have a similar molecular composition, so the new jab works for that.

        1. Thanks as always Joshua. I read an article today that one annual shot of a Covid vaccine would be developed each year tailored toward a particular variant, much like the flu shot toward a particular strain.

It will be recommended that everyone to get that Covid vaccine annually during the fall months along with the current flu shot.

            1. Yes, you did. Some seasons they get it right with the flu shot. Others they don’t. I think that with Covid-19 they’ll have one advantage and that is the considerable amount of sequencing being done, much more than would be done normally with influenza.

      1. Just a guess but I know of a number of kids and parents who now have Covid for the first time and school has not been in session for a full week
