DAYS 1-5 (MAY 28 – JUNE 1)

A return to nicer weather takes place today as lingering clouds clear away and we enjoy a warmer, drier day in the wake of last night’s showers and thunderstorms. This is a dry interlude between that and one more bout of unsettled weather from upper level low pressure which still has to finish its trip through the Northeast, and will do so during the middle of this week. Wednesday’s weather starts good but then turns more unsettled later and this continues into Thursday as that trough and a surface low move through the region. But finally we see it all pull away and some fabulous weather arrive at the end of the week as we say bye to May and hello to June with high pressure building into the region.

TODAY: Lots of clouds early, then a sun/cloud mix. Highs 68-75 South coast, 76-83 elsewhere. Wind SW 5-15 MPH, higher gusts.

TONIGHT: Clearing. Lows 52-59. Wind W 5-15 MPH.

WEDNESDAY: Sunny early, then variably cloudy. Chance of a shower in the afternoon. Highs 66-73. Wind NW 5-15 MPH.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy. Showers likely. Lows 55-62. Wind N to NE 5-15 MPH.

THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with showers likely in the morning. Sun/cloud mix with a chance of an additional passing shower during the afternoon. Highs 65-72. Wind shifting to NE 5-15 MPH.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Clearing. Lows 48-55. Wind NW 5-15 MPH.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 65-72. Wind NW to N 5-15 MPH.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear. Lows 50-57. Wind N up to 10 MPH.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs 68-75, coolest coast. Wind N up to 10 MPH with developing coastal sea breezes.

DAYS 6-10 (JUNE 2-6)

Looks like fair weather holds June 2-3 with a slight warming trend as high pressure remains dominant. Unsettled weather chance increases with a trough and frontal system moving into the region June 4-6, and a cooling trend at that time.

DAYS 11-15 (JUNE 7-11)

Pattern looking a little unsettled early portion of this period before fair weather returns. Temperatures variable, averaging fairly close to normal.

    1. Spring is the most volatile and often the most unsettled season, and while we’ve had that, we’ve had our share of very nice weather, probably a bit more than “average”. That will continue.

  1. Good morning and thank you TK

    made 76 yestsrday.
    dp up to 67 yresterday.

    67 temp overnight

    69 now

    Ocean temp: 55.9 (Boston buiy)

  2. New England Sports.

Red Sox: A 500 club so far.
    Bruins: Playoff struggles continue.
    Revs: Bottom of league.
    Patriots: Does anyone REALLY know?
Celtics: Unselfish team that “can do.”

If I give it enough thought, there must be some way I can tie all of these outcomes to the weather.

  3. Reposting from last night and a day late 🙁

I know he hasn’t been here in a while but happy birthday Shotime. Hopefully you are reading. So sorry it took me all day yesterday to remember

  4. I was totally wrong about the Celtics. While I haven’t followed the playoff run much, I’m very impressed by a 12-2 record thus far. That’s really hard to achieve in the post-season.

I was also wrong about the Bruins. I thought they’d go further.

The Sox are stuck in no man’s land >50 games into the season. I don’t know what to think or predict.

The Patriots look dismal on paper. But what does that even mean?

The Revs are a sad story. Just a few years ago they had an epic regular season, only to crash out in the playoffs. Since then it’s been a precipitous slide to awfulness.

  5. Thanks, TK!

    0.60″ in rain overnight.

Murky and foggy during the drive on the way in. Sun broke through about an hour ago.

  6. Thanks TK
    From the NY sports side
New York Rangers some how are two wins away from the Stanley Cups finals after being outshot 37-23 in game three. In shot attempts Panthers had 108 to the Rangers 44 in game three. Only one of the top guys has scored a goal this series. Goalie Igor Shesterkin coming up big so far.
The Knicks the injuries just caught up to them. Heck of a run getting to the second round.
The Yankees best record in the American League without Gerrit Cole the ace of the pitching staff having thrown one pitch this season. This team not only has the pitching but it also has the hitting so far this season.

  7. Peaking at the models ….

the low 60F dps still in eastern MA drop to the 50s dps and hang there for another 30-36 hrs

Then, looks like refreshing 40s dps for 3-4 days

After today, hints at very warm weather possible early next week.

Knock on wood, don’t see many hints of any low – mid 50s, drizzly and misty with raw NE wind days.

      1. Humid here too. The hallways are stuffy, but the rooms are nice and cool.

I feel like, for May, we have seen a fair share of relatively humid days.

The Gulf and Atlantic are above avg SST. If we have Bermuda highs or ridges in the east, I just wonder what the ceiling possibilities on dewpoints are this summer ???????

  8. 80 here. 61 DP. I got a shock when I glanced at my dashboard and saw 90. Then remembered I had not put the sensor back to where it belongs.

And NWS is still messed up. Anyone have a location if not a number I can call. Thanks if you do.

  9. Here’s the run we’re on since last Tuesday, even at Logan …..

    84, 89, 78, 85, 72, 69, 74 and I believe 82F.

June and some parts July in late May. Wonderful bonus !!

  10. Anyone smell smoke outside. strong smell of smoke here in JP. So much so, I had to check the entire house and neighborhood. Couldn’r find anything. smelled like a burning building. I did detect some smoke? in the sky.

    Many thanks
