  1. Thank you TK!!

North, I hope you have a safe trip – I think you are on the road by now. Hadi, I also hope you have a great trip.

DS – if you are reading and I’m correct – today is your birthday – Happy Birthday!!! Come on back!

  2. Thanks TK. Vicki, Of all places I am at Target and haven’t left yet! We needed locks for our suitcases. We hopefully will be on the road by 9. When is your new grandbaby due?

    1. Oh my if that isn’t to be expected…..sounds like our family. Hope you are out of here by this time as it is 9:22. My daughter will be induced on the 18th if she does not have the baby first. So hopefully by 19th – and even better by 18th ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for asking and have a wonderful time!

      1. Please keep us updated on what happens! My husband and I missed out on that in life – I always like to hear about other people’s joys in bringing a new life into the world! ๐Ÿ™‚

          1. She is fine – a real lovebug! She loves attention and jumps on my lap to let me know when she wants a grooming! Cara (her name) definitely has us “under her paws” ! Thanks for asking!

  3. Safe travels to North and Hadi! I hope you both have great vacations. Next time make sure you remember to bring the rest of us!

  4. Had some stuff prevent that full update last night. Nothing bad. ๐Ÿ™‚ Full update thus aftn! Promise ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. In the car now about an hour from charleston, South Carolina. We’ve been in and out of showers and thunderstorms since we hit North Carolina and even went through a tornado watch area but didn’t pass anything worse than lightning, thunder, wind, and very heavy downpours. It’s 73 here and very humid. Feels like summer. Vicki, I’ll say hi to your friends at the Wild Dunes resort!

    1. Mark please do – I am thinking about you and hoping you have a GREAT time. My in-laws lived at Snee Farm on the 9th (although they switch it to the 18th) hole – please wave when you go by ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Up to 77 degrees now 35 miles from charleston. Far cry from the sleet and 37 being reported by Springfield in the last hour! Sorry guys ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Springfield? Who lives in Springfield? No sleet around here just rain and 41 degrees, hope you have fun mark, enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. I put away my shovel for the season today. ๐Ÿ™‚ With warm temps for most if not all of next week, I would say no more snow threats (TK may say otherwise?) ๐Ÿ˜‰ other than blocking returning next weekend through early May with slightly below normal temps.

    I will post Logan’s final 2012-13 snow stats later in a future blog…. ๐Ÿ˜€

  8. Horrible ride in the most western part of the state. No plows or sanders on the westbound side of the pike. At least 8 cars off the road in the ditch, one jackknifed tractor trailer and some serious white knuckle driving. I can’t believe the way they took care of the westbound side. The eastbound side had at least 8 plows going by. It was heavy sleet and heavy freezing rain and 32. Once in New York state it was much better and now temp west of Albany is 36 with rain and sleet but roads are freat.

  9. Lots of sleet in Woburn right now but nothing building up yet other than at the bottom of a parked car’s windshield. Still going to rain now and again but lots of pellets bouncing around.

  10. Just spent $250 on flowers, theres gonna be a planting party at my house this weekend, I know tommorrow/weekend is gonna be crazy at those places, got it done today ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Hmm everything, since I got rained out i had time, just about anything and everything ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Updating in a few (for real this time).

Though the models show the same general pattern (GFS vs Euro), the timing is not the same. There is a warming in the upper levels (surface is less confident due to ocean nearby) next week, and a cool-down beyond that.

I have to say that I was skeptical of the medium range outlook having next week so warm but it is POSSIBLE we do get quite warm for a few days. Again this is going to depend on any back-door front nearby and then the timing of the pattern-changing front from the west. More to come on this as we go…

For now I am going to lean toward the Euro’s timing so you will see this reflected in warmer temps. Don’t be surprised if some of these #’s get tweaked downward if it appears the GFS’s timing is better.

  12. According to the most recent CPC outlook, below normal temps are going to be quite prevalent for most of the CONUS including NE starting next weekend. According to Brett Anderson’s blog, the cooling is expected through early May based on the latest Euro.

    1. I agree with this. But a brief taste of summer sometime next week before this? Possibly!!

      New blog posted. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. We’re socked in with drizzle/light fog up here, but it’s mostly low level moisture leftover.
