Saturday Forecast

8:44AM

DAYS 1-5 (FEBRUARY 18-22)
A milder weekend is underway, but if your weekend extends through Monday Presidents Day, then that part of it will be a little colder in the wake of a north-to-south-moving cold front and high pressure building across eastern Canada and nosing southward. The dry weather will last through Tuesday but a rain or snow shower may pass through the region Wednesday with a weak disturbance, if it has enough moisture to work with.
TODAY: Partly sunny. Highs 43-50. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows 25-33. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.
SUNDAY: Partly sunny. Highs 47-54. Wind SW 10-20 MPH with higher gusts.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows 30-38. Highs 39-46.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny. Lows 10-18. Highs 37-44.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Chance of rain/snow showers. Lows 25-32. Highs 38-45.

DAYS 6-10 (FEBRUARY 23-27)
Fair and mild early in the period. Episodes of wet weather and continued mild for the middle to end of the period.

DAYS 11-15 (FEBRUARY 28-MARCH 4)
Trending colder. A mix/snow event may occur in the first few days of March.

  1. Good morning and thank you TK.

Last night Harvey said it would be 40 by 11AM. Ummm, I think Higher given that it is already 39. 😀

Ooops, make that 40 already. 😀

  2. I thought I’d share this as I have been following Naples, FL weather

    Today : partly cloudy, 81F.

Tonight : showers possible, 68F (yes, that’s the expected low temp) Dp in the 60s. So, basically a somewhat typical July southern New England night.

Sunday : Morning shower, afternoon sun, 82F.

When I go pick up my wife and kids in a few days, I’m going to be telling them about our great, spring preview weather and they are going to be freezing cold.

    1. Hahaha. You are on a roll this morning. I love it. I think they would be wise to not leave you alone too often.

  3. Kind of neat watching the warm air flow in aloft.

On the Mt Washington auto road vertical temp profile, the temp is 29.4F at 3,300 feet, and rises to 35.2F at 4,000 feet.

At the summit itself, it is 22.5F which is a steady rise from even several hours ago.

Pretty good warm air advection on going.

  4. Thanks TK
BORING WEAHTER but the one positive I could get my car wash and it will stay clean for a few days.

  5. Presidents Day weekend 14 years ago we were dealing with The Presidents Day storm which ended up being Boston’s biggest snowstorm on record just edging the Blizzard of 78.

    1. Snow measurement at Logan was questionable and still is for that storm AFAIC.

IIRC average snowfall for eastern MA was around 18-20 inches.

  6. Thanks TK. Some great weather on tap! Very tranquil, not something we’ve seen much of lately.

FWIW, while there still looks to be at least a brief cooler interlude towards the end of the month, there’s been a pronounced shift to warmer on most of the long range guidance. The consensus is a western US trough with an active storm track to our west. May mean an active period of early season severe weather to the south, with warm and potentially wet conditions for us. Seems to be supported given where most of the teleconnections look to be heading. Spring may be in more of a hurry than we thought.

  7. 48. Windows wide open with about 10 inches of snow on ground. Love the contrast. All of my “winter” decorations that go up after thanksgiving are away and most important two weeks are reserved to spend beachside at Humarock this summer. ✨☀️

Now if I could get this motivated about getting tax info ready

  8. 3 weeks from tonight we spring forward . Yes , yes and yes . Although winter is not over it’s not long before it is . Stronger sun , longer days & turning clocks get me excited.

  9. The newest and youngest member of the Woodshill Weather family joined the world early this morning weighing in at 7lbs 6oz and measuring 20″ long 😀

    1. I have a flood of happy tears. We all send our Love to your new and very special family.

And as an aside. Anyone born on the 18th day is extra special.

Do you have a name? How is Mrs Ace? Big big hugs

  10. Oh happy day!!!! I am beyond thrilled for you and your wife!! Welcome to the world little one!!!! Enjoy every single minute.

  11. According to Barry, rain and 60 for Saturday. Usually full sunshine is required for that high temperature this time of year.

  12. Good morning. The snow is disappearing in a hurry. I can’t believe the puddles
from melting. And there was melting all night. It was 50 here at 12:30 AM!!!!!!

53 here already and without much in the way of sunshine.

      1. I believe. Despite Logan’s paltry 49 for a high yesterday, I am here
to see it was much higher here. One of my thermometers hit 54 and while driving around, the car thermometer showed 55. My other thermometer here hit 50 or above. 😀

  13. I’ll bet the rest of the upcoming week, the temps will overachieve 1-4F daily because all that’s going to be left of the snow locally is snow piles and then more of the strengthening sun’s energy can be being used for warming the air, as opposed to melting snow cover.

  14. Wow! Looking ahead…. I dunno. Is it time to declare that Spring has arrived?
Mean trough is in the West, keeping us mild to warm. And then after about 2 weeks
of that carp, it goes zonal, still keeping us mild. We’re running out of Winter here.
Of course these medium range models going out 10 to 16 days, aren’t accurate as
to the details, but the overall patterns are “usually” fairly decent. Even so, it could still
change, but I don’t like what I see as far as Winter weather goes.

But here’s my problem: I don’t mind the warmer weather, in fact I would welcome it,
IF and ONLY IF, it stayed that way. I don’t want a 2-3 prelude to Spring only to
slip back into the dead of Winter. Give us Winter now or Give us Spring. What’s it gonna be?

    1. We’ll probably slip back to winter at some point and I’m basing that guess on what happens most of the time.

St Patrick’s Day, Easter ….. they always seem to be chilly or cold.

  15. Here’s Washington DC forecast high temps the next 6 days from weather underground :

    69, 61, 56, 71, 73, 69 and it’s already 60 there this morning.

I hope the cherry blossoms don’t bloom in late February. Wonder what the earliest date that has ever happened ?

  16. I have one thermometer reading 60!!!! while the other is at 56.
Either way, pretty toasty out there today!
