  1. Copying here from earlier on yesterday’s

Dr S or anyone who may know. Do we have an extension on car inspection stickers? Mine runs out end of July

    1. I believe it is 90 days? I just got mine done yesterday for May. I don’t know that for sure though.

  2. Its interesting.

In my district, teachers have been asked to take a couple different surveys on returning options and other Covid related options.

    I just completed one yesterday.

The answers I put on yesterday´s survey are not irrelevant.

The news today has 2 stories, one about 2 teachers testing positive for Covid-19 in Quincy and a student testing positive in Melrose or Medford, I forget which town.

Well, shit, if I had access to that info yesterday, I probably have a different take on things today than yesterday,

And that´s been happening a lot seemingly the last week. Lots of news stories really questioning how to re-open schools.

I think my one idea that hasn´t changed is for leadership teams in districts to be extremely flexible.

Who knows what the numbers are going to look like in late August, which is still 6 weeks away. What looks like it could work now, may be something that is out of the question in 6 weeks.

    We shall see ………

    1. Tom what’s going to be different this year is have a trifecta in play : covid , influenza & Nora

        1. Nora virus . It’s like the flu but it can get worse . Cruise ships have been know to come down with it . It’s very contagious.

          1. Thanks ! I didn´t know that.

I did see a quick news story that cruise ships are now not allowed through Sept, or was it October ?

          2. Norovirus is truly nasty. And very contagious. It isn’t around every year though and is different from the stomach bug which is always present. Several schools had to close to clean for it last year I believe.

Tom, I had not heard those. There was also the teacher in Westwood who was told she was negative and then found out It was positive. That is bad enough but From what I’m reading the teacher went back to school still feeling ill After she was told negative.

There will be another survey …or more I suppose but I believe definitely one. Also, of the 90% who want to return In Sutton, it seems there was some confusion. Because they want to return doesn’t mean they think kids should.

            1. I have a feeling all school districts will roll the dice & have everyone back on time but with a new look such as mandatory masks by everyone, social distancing, no lunches in the cafeteria ( students will bag lunch & eat in home room, new look to the class setups & the million dollar question is sports & that is going too be tough . What about the locker rooms , bus rides to other schools, masks on playing fields , social distance, contact & what about spectators ( very , very tough call on sports and even chorus.

  3. Couple of things today:

    1. New daily deaths are now between 950 and 1,000. Deaths are decreasing in the Northeast, stable in the Midwest, but increasing steadily in the South and Southwest.

    2. Below is a link to the 11 deaths reported today in Houston.

    – Pay attention to the date of death, and you’ll see what I’ve been saying. There’s a 2 and sometimes 3 week lag between date of death and reporting of death.

    – Also, take a look at the age distribution. It’s a very wide range.

    – Covid-19 is heavily impacting minorities; especially those with diabetes and hypertension.

Here are some case charts that sum up the vast magnitude of the problem facing America. Case counts are increasing everywhere, even in the Northeast (though it’s clearly better here than anywhere else).

    1. Thanks, Joshua.

I’ve given up on the idea of The opening schools Discussion. It is just a fools errand. I pray that towns are quietly creating viable in-Home plans as well as alternative plans for those who have to work. It absolutely can be done
