  1. Good morning,

My wife and I have been back and forth several times on the
trump’s Covid situation. I am still NOT convinced this is real.
He is just the person to pull off an elaborate ruse.

Perhaps he is really sick, but I still have my doubts as does my wife.

If he is released today, watch for a big drama situation where
trump advances the drugs he was administered as miracle cures from heaven like an infomercial for those pharmaceutical companies. (he is probably heavily invested in each of them)

And I am DISGUSTED with the transparency we are receiving.
And while I am at it, what the bleep was that stunt
pulled late yesterday PM? What an irresponsible display!

This man is the WORST president this country has ever
    seen, hands down!!

    1. I had the fleeting thought at first but There are many others around him. He couldn’t have predicted that. I will say that Macs nephew responded overnight to dexamethasone and he was very ill. But then he is 41

Last night was yet another criminal act. I cannot believe anyone who isn’t appalled by that and his trip to NJ knowing a quick test he’d taken was positive that afternoon

  2. Quote of the day from Scott Gottlieb, former FDA Commissioner (under Trump):

“The entire Pacific Rim has less than 1000 cases a day. Having a raging epidemic is not inevitable.”

The Pacific Rim is recovering economically. They’re able to function relatively normally, with few restrictions. They controlled the virus. We in the U.S. didn’t. Period. And, many countries in Europe failed to, too.

However, the U.S. blew away the competition in terms of reckless behavior by people in charge of handling the pandemic. The violations of rules and protocol were rampant from the beginning.

Had an event taken place like the one last Saturday – Amy’s superspreader Kingdom of God party – it would have toppled all parliamentary democracies in the Western world. Motions of no confidence would have been submitted last week, and the government would have fallen. Our democracy doesn’t hold our executive branch accountable in the same way parliamentary democracies do. While our system of government is more stable (inherently; our governments don’t fall like they do in parliamentary democracies) as election dates and terms are fixed, it’s also prone to lack of accountability for actions taken (eg, incompetence).

  3. You may recall I was concerned about New York (City). At this point, I’m very worried, for two reasons:

    1. Cases there and in some other parts of the state are rising. Hospitalizations have risen, too, in recent weeks.

    2. Back in August I did NOT expect NYC to experience another surge in cases. It still might not. But, all indications are that it is. My belief in August was based on the data on seroprevalence and T cell cross-reactivity. Though not the same thing as herd immunity, I thought previously hard-hit areas would not be hit hard again. I was wrong. Madrid is Exhibit A. London is Exhibit B. And now NYC may be Exhibit C.

What does all this mean? We have a long way to go to get to herd immunity. Most of us are still susceptible. Hopefully a vaccine comes soon, which would get us to herd immunity in a sane way.

      1. Agree. Even out this way. I posted Uxbridge numbers the other day. 89 March to two weeks ago. 14 in past two weeks. But then school is hybrid there so not sure if it is the reason or a spike

  4. White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany tweeted today that she tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday morning.

Another one. On and on it goes…

The whole administration has been SO irresponsible, what did they expect to happen? I am just surprised it took this long.

    1. How long before trump is out without a mask saying he doesn’t need one now.

      According to WHO

Can a patient spread the coronavirus disease even after symptoms disappear?
People infected with COVID-19 can still infect others after they stop feeling sick, so these measures should continue for at least two weeks after symptoms disappear.

Visitors should not be allowed until the end of this period.

      1. Anyone with Covid-19 symptoms should wear a mask when he/she can’t physically distance indefinitely. Why? 1. Virus tends to stay in the body for very long periods of time (hence the long haulers, who test positive for months). 2. We don’t know enough about chances of re-infection.

  5. The Vice Presidential debate should be virtual.

In addition to several more White House staffers today, Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California has tested positive for the coronavirus. Pastor Laurie was at the Prayer March on the Mall with Mike Pence and Franklin Graham, and at Amy’s spread the virus bash later that day.

Moral of the story. You can test negative for days, indeed, up to 14 days (hence the 14 day quarantine rule) before testing positive.

Pence has been racking up air miles since March like a man on a mission. He and Pompeo. It’s like they’ve never heard of Zoom. Most of the trips are totally unnecessary. The only leaders I see doing this much traveling are ones in authoritarian countries: Belarus, Russia, Brazil.

  6. It’s not surprising that not ONE Democrat in Congress has tested positive. It probably won’t be long that the Republican side will be one big Petri dish.

Why have the Democrats gone along with the “science” (masks, social distancing, etc.) and Republicans deliberately defied it? This includes the general public and politicians alike amongst those groups.

I would be curious if other countries like Europe have these type of silly divisions with this pandemic.

How can we expect our teens and college students obey the rules when members of U.S. Congress will not?

Joshua, what are your thoughts on this?

  7. Has anyone noticed that Dr. Fauci has been silent since Trump got infected?

Is it possible that he has tested positive as well?

    1. Come to think of it, that entire Coronavirus Task Force has been invisible lately. No statements or comments via the media at all.

      1. You are correct. And that’s a disgrace. The Task Force was established to be the face of the federal response to the coronavirus outbreak. It’s been sidelined constantly by an inept White House.

  8. Trump is EVIL!!!

This is what he tweeted. Read this and be proud of your president. What an ASS!!!

(CNN)President Donald Trump says he’s leaving the hospital after three nights, declaring he is “feeling really good!” and that coronavirus is nothing to fear.

“I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good!” Trump tweeted.
“Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life,” he went on. “We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!”
Trump’s physician was due to provide an update on the President’s condition in the 3 p.m. ET hour, the White House said, as an upbeat Trump was telling associates he is desperate to leave Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

  9. Yes, Mr. President, “don’t be afraid of Covid” is precisely the message we needed to hear. Never level with us. Never be truthful. Always try to pacify us. Treat us like children who only want to hear fairy tales. Give us false hope that everything’s fine.

I’ll make sure to pass on your message about Covid to the family of Donna Morrissey of Newton (51). She died of Covid-19 after a 2 month battle. She was an executive at the Red Cross, and a TV news person in Boston 25 years ago.

I’ll also let the family of Nick Cordero (49), the broadway actor, know. He suffered 3 months of agony before perishing.

And, closer to home I’ll be sure to let the family and friends of two dear friends of my mother know. They died of Covid-19 One was 79, the other 89.

And, right down the street, the family and friends of two Beacon Hill residents I was acquainted with. One was 82, the other 79. The 79 year old struggled for 6 months with the disease, in and out of hospitals, before succumbing.

    1. This gets right to the core of the heart-wrenching matter. And as Dave says, it is truly pathetic in many ways.

  10. His comment brought me to tears as, frankly, it should every decent person. All I could think of was the Families of the 200,000 plus and counting. I cry now as I type.

    1. Sad day for the United States of America. Very Sad.
Just wait, he will be pushing those medications big time,
      I can almost guarantee it.

      1. And I still don’t think he has Covid. An elaborate ruse as a last ditch effort to garner votes. I hope it back fires on him!
