    1. And look they are basing their decision on the positivity rate of which the State is going to be change how(currently including repeat tests) that is calculated. So it is lower than it actually is.

    2. Thanks SSK. That’s too bad. The medical community including Dr. Fauci have been greatly encouraging in person learning. Not surprising I suppose since the BTU have been consistently fighting against in person learning.

  1. This whole thing is about to explode! We are fast approaching
the new case rate of the Spring with 800+ new cases in each of the last 2 days and many 600+ and 700+ days prior to that.

      1. And the flu has not even got going yet and this is going to bring everything into a standstill in my opinion.

        1. It’s going to be problematic for those who don’t bother to get a flu shot. Is it the flu or Covid? They do have similar symptoms. For example, when I get the flu, my taste stops for awhile much like Covid.

  2. Question. Has anyone had experience with indoor heaters? It looks more and more as if thanksgiving and Christmas will be in the garage. We might use outdoors on warmer days if they happen. It is a regular size (I think) two car. Thank you

  3. Today’s numbers nationwide are dismal. We’re headed toward 1,200 deaths nationwide today.

    Europe’s numbers are bad, too.

On influenza, there’s room for cautious optimism. The Southern Hemisphere has reported a very low prevalence of influenza this year. Similar in countries in East Asia that started universal masking and distancing in late January. Because of the distancing and masking here and elsewhere I believe influenza will not be as bad as it normally would.

    1. Makes sense. Thanks Joshua. I know they are seeing a decrease in colds and strep etc in kids. Not sure how it is for teachers

  4. The Irish aren’t messing around (note, Ireland’s done pretty well – its death rate is less than half ours). See link below.

Many of you have asked what a real lockdown looks like. Well, this [Ireland’s 6 week shutdown] is about as close to one as we’ve had in the West. Wuhan’s was even stricter as you couldn’t leave your house at all for 9 weeks. One thing for sure: A 9 week lockdown really crushes the virus. People in Wuhan live now the same way they did pre-pandemic. They’re not even wearing masks. The virus has been obliterated. No hosts. No more virus. In hindsight, this is what we should have done. And ironically, had we done that, Trump would have won in a landslide as everything would be back to normal (probably by July), even without a vaccine.
