  1. If I am not mistaken, today is the day that 100M Americans will be vaccinated, exceeding President Biden’s goal to date. A very good sign.

  2. Cdc new guidelines on 6 vs 3 ft distancing.

Search transmission in the main document. Then use second link to see transmission rate in your county. In a perfect world 3 feet works….except kids are sick with flu all winter with the three feet….but we are not even close to a perfect world.

Last paragraph is one of many references to 6 feet if you are in a high transmission are which most of MA and a good portion of this country is.

“In middle schools and high schools, students should be at least 3 feet apart in areas of low, moderate, or substantial community transmission. In areas of high community transmission, middle and high school students should be 6 feet apart if cohorting is not possible”

    1. And yet last year at this time, some medical “experts” were considering extending the social distancing, if anything. Into double digits.

Iirc there was an article that suggested as much as 20+ feet.

      1. Never heard that. But this time last year no one knew. This year we know. So with absolute proper ventilation and not high risk…which is far in the minority,,,…we can do three feet. We know better. This one IMO is on Biden. And make no mistake, I like most everything else he is doing.

    1. 5,541,000 over 18 in MA. It is an awesome start. But playing the devils advocate, need to keep that in mind

  3. Something to share

My oldest had teacher conferences today for daughters age 12 and just 9 yesterday. 12 year old was stressed re a major math test a couple of days ago. She got a 99 because she left one label off. But the story doesn’t end there

Several of her friends were stressed too. So rather than ask the teacher, they got together on zoom using write..or is it white…boards. The teachers could see them doing this. They worked as a team to figure it all out. And every one of them passed with flying colors.

The nine year old who has an IEP and has struggled in past years has excelled to the point her teacher said she could be a model student for remote learning

Yes I am a very proud nana and mom. but that is not my reason for posting. My reason is that remote works when parents, teachers and kids are fully invested.

      1. Thanks, Scott. I mentioned you and your family to my daughter tonight. I suspect you know this first hand.
