  1. Not including TK’s usual comment at the end, I believe 53 is the most comments for this Covid-19 Page.

Thanks to all who contributed and Thank you TK! 🙂

Special thanks again to Joshua, of course! 🙂

  2. Now for more bad news.

Dr. Fauci predicts 200,000 cases per day.

There is now the Delta PLUS variant. Is this “a variant of an existing variant”?

  3. Good morning,

Just some insight into the unvaccinated.

My brother called me yesterday to wish me a happy birthday.
During the conversation I asked him directly if he and his wife are vaccinated. He answered very proudly Nope. I asked why.

OMG, pathetic. He believes the big lie. He thinks the vaccines are not safe and cannot be trusted because they rushed it. I told them they have been working on this type of vaccine for 10 years. No matter, not safe. Then he told me that Dr. Fauci is a nut and that he doesn’t believe anything he says. I told my brother that he was part of the problem. He didn’t care.
I asked him if he was vaccinated against small pox and he said yes, it was required. I said, this needs to be required. He called that medical tyranny! YIKES! His son is NOT vaccinated and he had covid and still will NOT get vaccinated.

My brother is not the brightest bulb. This is the problem, these type of persons are easily manipulated.

This is the type of bullshit we are up against.

Covid is NOT going away anytime soon. I Greatly FEAR the next variant, which undoubtedly is on the way.

I am afraid, very very afraid.

I am depressed about all of this. I am bitterly disappointed in
many of our fellow Americans. BITTERLY!

    1. Wow. I have some friends who are dim. I’ve tried explaining things to them – brick walls. It’s insanity.

  4. Friends of my mom and stepdad in their late 70s refuse to get the vaccine. I can’t believe people in that age bracket refuse a vaccine who don’t have a medical condition where they can’t be vaccinated. My stepdad has given up trying to convince them to get the vaccine.

      1. Like I said yesterday. It’s going to get worse & it’s going to come down to the unvaccinated folks will not be able to much socially.

        1. Yes. One good thing (well I suppose we can say good thing),
in the areas where the delta variant is hitting the hardest and unvaccinated persons are seeing their loved ones and friends getting sick, hospitalized or even dying, they are changing their minds about vaccination. Vaccinatations
          are up nation-wide.

The more we get vaccinated, the better.

  5. Did anyone see Anderson Cooper on CNN the other night.

He had a story about a church in Maine that filed a law
suite against the mask mandate. He didn’t want his congregation masked while attending services.

The reported asked the pastor if he was vaccinated and he answered no. The Pastor said most people will die of heart disease anyway. The reporter compared heart disease to covid and said If I am sitting here with speaking to you with covid I could give it to you. If I was sitting here with heart disease I could NOT transmit it to you. Do you see the difference?
The pastor said there was no difference.

The pastor was a pure IDIOT and spreads the same bullshit
to his moronic lemming flock. Good grief how do we get
out of this mess with MORONS like that spreading disinformation.

    1. I didn’t see the report. I did see somewhere that a pastor had filed suit and also told his congregation that as many as want to be in church are welcome and masks are not needed.

  6. I’ve been thinking about the unvaccinated. The funny thing is many who won’t get the vaccine believe those who do are easily manipulated. But aren’t the experts cresting a lot of hesitancy? We’ve said here many times that we don’t trust them or their message much of the time.

The other part of hesitancy is the rna vaccine. It’s been around maybe three decades. From what I can find, we have maybe 10-15 years of data/knowledge. That’s not a lot. It worries me with the kids. We have only theories as to why it “shouldn’t” have problems as they develop. I put shouldn’t in quotes because that is the word I find in most discussions. It’s a word that always gives me pause.

As far as a congregation listening to a quack or the trump folks listening to his lies and then spreading the same, I have no respect at all.

    Just thinking out loud.

    1. re: Children and the vaccine

My wife and I were discussing this and even though there may
be a risk with the vaccine, the benefits outweigh the risk
of the virus. After much deliberation, we both came to the conclusion that if we had young children now, we WOULD
definitely have them vaccinated as soon as it was available to them.

      1. My girls have done the same. I’ve said two of my grands are eligible. One will have vaccine and would have at her yearly in Monday but for some reason the office stopped giving them. The other will probably have also. He is more at risk and has had reactions to other vaccines. His eight year old brother keeps asking when he can get his shot. Another nine year old has serious reactions to some vaccines and meds.

It isn’t always cut and dried. I feel for parents.

        1. I should have added that with the eligible male, daughter is waiting till his yearly checkup to discuss with his pediatrician

    1. Yes, I did see this earlier today.

Sad state of affairs. I just do NOT understand that mind set.
      It boggles my mind.

      1. These politicians literally have blood on their hands.

My youngest just said she is sick or doing what is right while too many don’t. And this includes some vaccinated as well as unvaccinated.

        1. Another part of the problem.

Friends and family (vaccinated or not) are doing whatever they bleeping want with no regard to the virus what so ever. It only adds fuel to the fire.

Another problem: When the vaccinated exhibit mild symptoms, they blow it off as allergies or mild cold and go about their business further spreading the virus.

It is a crying shame that this virus has many faces, including asymptomatic illness. I’d much rather it made
everyone very sick, so people don’t go out and spread it more.

  7. I just read Obama was having everyone who would have gone tested first. Funny how the news missed that. It was so unlike him that I should have known. So Baker criticized Obama and then allows a concert at Fenway.

    I truly give up

    1. Totally agree. Baker’s stock has CRASHED as far as I am concerned.

I looked at some photos of those concerts and the ball games for that matter. And we wonder why the cases are on the increase.
Those fans are packed into that ball pack literally like a can of
sardines. I can barely fit in one of the seats and my legs are all crunched up and each shoulder is virtually pressed up against
the fan to either side of me. Talk about social distancing.
      PETRI DISH EVENTS@!()#&*!@&*#&!*(@&#*(!&@(*&(#*&

    2. I heard it on the news before the cancellation & saw it on Facebook all guests were to be tested with negative results . Also the island on the news last night said they had not problem with 700+ as it’s a Normal occurrence on the island

    1. Most interesting. Thank you Joshua.

Are you now in the UK?
How was the flight? What is the weather like?

  8. Is it true that we will need a 3rd Moderna or Pfizir shot? I wish they would just come up with a booster shot that would just get rid of this horrible virus. And, of course, if only people followed safety rules.

    1. I don’t know what we are doing here. WHO halted booster vaccines to save vaccines for developing countries

        1. Thanks Scott. I know Pfizer isn’t close to 90 against delta. I’ve seen Modenas efficacy lumped with pfeizer. Is moderna being honest or seeing something it has that pfeizer doesn’t. I’m inclined to think this is not truth.

            1. I do also. I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing. I’m getting some curious comments which surprises me since I am happy to accept whatever anyone decides for themselves.

Have you decided in school for fall or is it too soon?

              1. I am of the same mindset as you and don’t believe in a one size fits all. With that said our district is only offering an in-school option so that is what they’ll be doing. We’ll see what happens.

                1. I wish you the best. Schools here are only offering In school. Riley has said there is no choice and it has to be in school. Both daughters are looking at home schooling.

      1. Good. I wondered if who halting would impact us. I have moderna but am only one in family. Others are pfeizer and son and fiancé are JJ

  9. Not yet in the UK. Leaving at 7pm from Logan, so I’ll be heading to the airport fairly soon.

Weather there is pretty much what it is here right now. But, unlike Boston, London will remain cloudy with showers through the weekend. Does look like Tuesday and Wednesday next week are a bit better. I don’t mind the light rain. I certainly am not expecting nice weather when I travel to England. Any nice weather is a bonus.

    1. Have a great trip Joshua!

We are scheduled to leave for London 21 September and I’ve got my fingers crossed as this has been postponed three times already. We’re giving notice of marriage during that visit and planning to return at Thanksgiving for the marriage ceremony.

So I’m very interested in hearing about your experience. Where did you get your pre-travel COVID test, and any recommendations or tips for that?

    1. Thanks Joshua. Again some great comments

Safe travels. I hope your trip is everything you hope it will be and more

  10. My youngest and family had planned a trip to Charleston in a week or so Plans were made before delta. They had it mapped out and planned as safely as anyone could. They cancelled last night. There are just too many cases in Charleston county. They are disappointed but to their credit they handle plan Bs well.

  11. I like the nyc vaccine mandate. I do think we need to have a better way of proof of vaccine. Sadly, the fact that I have to say that speaks to a whole other problem. I do have a bar code on my card. Anyone know what it is for?

This is where I have a problem. See the story of the sore in Nantucket. I’ve already mentioned attacks in flight attendants. The mandate means employees at restaurants will have to police the patrons. I sure would not want to be in that position. I’d suggest the mayors reimburse facilities for an approved security person to do the policing.

  12. Amy, I will let you know how everything goes.

I think that the UK will be in a better position – already is – than the US in September. It just did a much better job at vaccinating, especially the at-risk groups. They’re also starting a booster program within a few weeks. We’re now suffering the consequences of such a fragmented policy from state to state, and even county to county. Not so much in our state of Massachusetts. But certainly in many other states. For vaccinated US travelers I think the UK will remain open. I hope for your sake, Amy.

I wound up getting my Covid test at Sameday Health. Really efficient, and my insurance will reimburse.

Just got to Logan. Terminal E is as empty as I’ve ever seen it. Most of the shops and restaurants are closed. The T bus (Silver Line) went by Terminals A, B, and C. They appeared VERY crowded.

        1. Nice!!

I sure know how excited you must be. While my daughter and family are not headed to Charleston in a week, We will go to my sons wedding in a month. It is all outside and I absolutely will not miss my sons wedding.

  13. With news of Moderna’s 3rd shot, it’s time we start calling the vaccine for what it is, a therapeutic

      1. I was going to ask the same. There are many therapeutic vaccines. I know the goal of the ones being used for cancer is to train the bodies immune system to fight the disease. Also many vaccines require boosters. So I’m not sure what Ace meant.
