        1. Well, you can’t blame us for wanting to get back to normal (2019). Are we rushing it? Probably, if not likely.

          1. I can’t blame anyone at all. I’d love to be able to say we are gaining ground. Maybe we are. But it seems that we jump the gun every time which only ends up in setting us back. It makes more sense to me to Trust the science and to look outside of our borders before making broad sweeping decisions.

  1. Great news is school numbers continue to drop. I’d like to see staff members drop more but at least they are going in the right direction. Or perhaps they are a more accurate number since we really have little idea what the true student numbers are.

  2. Great news!! It does seem in my eyes things are getting back to pre Covid on many different fronts.

    1. Maybe for summer at least ….I sure hope so

I’m a glass half full kind of person…which a person would never believe with my Covid remarks 🙁

The risk is that our politicians and some health experts act too quickly, don’t follow science, and seem to have a risky knack of hearing only what they want to hear.

BA.4 and BA.5 sit poised. If they arrive, as Joshua noted a few days ago is possible, at the start of the school year and if we don’t have an omicron specific vaccine, it might restart school numbers. I’ve said it before, but I do believe school numbers are a true barometer.

      Lots of “ifs” though

  3. A bit of disturbing news I heard this morning is that there are states that no longer report their case numbers. For all we know, those cases could be quite high. I highly doubt any states with plummeting numbers wouldn’t be reporting, they would be bragging if anything.

    1. I don’t think any states have been able to report accurate numbers for months. Schools certainly have not been. Funny thing is I tend to think schools with the very high numbers are reporting more accurately than those with lower numbers.
