    1. Yes, it’s something we’ve all learned from the Covid-19 pandemic. Carrying a virus and being asymptomatic is definitely a thing. It’s also not well understood why some people are asymptomatic and others symptomatic.

Encouraging signs in Europe on both the Covid-19 and monkeypox fronts. Both are seeing significantly decreased growth in new cases. It’s uneven across countries. But, it’s a hopeful sign that at least a pause is on the way.

We’re still above 100k new Covid-19 cases daily, and our daily deaths have edged up to 522 a day.

      1. I do of course know Covid can be asymptomatic….maybe up to 60 percent. Although the number is not certain. Seventy percent of polio surprised me with less than one percent suffering from paralysis. I don’t think this is widely known

        1. Yes, indeed. I worded it wrong. I know that you know this. I just was adding that “we’ve all” (meaning pretty much everyone) learned from the Covid-19 pandemic about asymptomatic v. symptomatic infection.

I certainly did not know this prior to Covid-19. I also didn’t know about polio presenting as asymptomatic.

By the way, some unsettling news just in from Brazil: Brazil records 77 cases among children below the age of 17 and 20 below the age of 4.

          1. You are very correct that we had so little knowledge of viruses presenting as asymptomatic. Very worrisome indeed

And monkey pox with return to school is just awful timing. Not that there is ever good timing
