    1. Sticking my neck out a bit, Sunday looks exquisite and Monday should at least start out great. I’m planning on a trip up to Newburyport and Hampton Beach on Saturday October 8 and then to Six Flags on Sunday October 9. Would LOVE great weather those days. 🙂

      1. That sounds good. Growing up, Hampton Beach was a place we went to a lot…..We are off to an Irish Festival in Dorchester on Sunday, so that long range forecast sounds promising.

  1. Thanks TK. Tom are you still there? We are heading to Humarock to look for winter rental signs. The radar looks clear there but I wondered what your thoughts are on weather holding until early afternoon. Thank you.

    1. Hi Vicki.

Right now, there’s a steady NE wind coming off the ocean and there’s a mix of clouds and sun. The breeze is not cold, but its not as mild as yesterday. I do see on the radar a thin band of scattered showers arcing through Rhode Island, so I guess its reasonable that there could be a shower later, but not a washout.

      1. Thanks Tom. We are leaving now and will leave there by 1:30 to get home for game so sounds like it’ll work. Everyone says thank you

  2. Was on the climate section of the Taunton NWS website and looked at the preliminary data for September. All 4 locations (Logan, Worcester, TF Green in Providence and Hartford, CT) were all above normal for the month of Sept. Logan was 2.4F above normal and the other 3 locations were even warmer than normal. Looks like a warm spell a few days before mid month and the last 5-7 nights of the month with WAY above normal lows contributed to the above normal average. Off and about for the day, have a good one everyone !!

  3. Thanks TK… Looks great when we get to Wednesday although prior to that we won’t be talking about all day washouts.

  4. One other thing I think the Patriots bounce back from last week with a win in Oakland although the Raiders are an improved team and the defense for the Patriots is a concern for me. I am thinking 34-27 game.

  5. Hello from Koblenz Germany!! TK the weather has been spectacular. This morning right on cue in the Rhine river valley fog was dense but burned off quickly. temps have been in the upper 70’s and not a cloud in the sky.

    1. Hi Hadi! Glad you are enjoying some great weather. No surprise on the fog. That’s why I put it in the forecast. It usually does burn off pretty quickly except when we get deeper into Fall and Winter when the sun angle is at its lowest.

  6. I’ll pay more attention to hockey once the football season is over and basketball should there be a season.

    1. Yes me to- but I don’t watch basketball at all, just can’t get into it. So have you seen anything in regards to this winter on what it may look like. Is there going to be a troph in place to give us another bad winter.

      1. I can’t watch basketball either and haunt watched hockey but am going to try this year since everyone here likes it so much

  7. According to WSI it looks like the worse of the cold is going to be in November and December. From what I have seen no one is calling for below normal snowfall at this time nor a repeat of the snowfall we had last winter and the cold is not going to be that bad.

    1. I thought I had read on here sombody was saying something about a troph setting up for this winter, in which case that could mean a repeat of last winter. I am hoping for a mild little snowfall winter. But I doubt that will happen.

      1. My early call was for a front-end-loaded snow/cold. Cold November & December, most snow December and early January. Milder with more mixes/rain events later but trending drier as winter goes. I’ve yet to post my complete outlook. Will be doing that sometime this month. But early on it looks like WSI, AccuWeather, and I are in general agreement.

  8. Yes I know. I remove snow at work during storms. You would think that I would want a ton of snow, but let me tell you it gets old real fast. Wake up calls in the middle of the night, all nighters, all weekend and missed holidays. Yes good money but I am a guy who looks forward to his days off.

    1. When I was in my 20s I had a lot of friends on the Belmont police – my dad was EMT. Several did snow clearing and I loved to go along. I was in the truck for what seemed forever during the three (i sem to remember) noreasters in two weeks during 1969 Of course I was young and didn’t have children.

    1. Would not be surprised to see widespread frost Thursday night/Friday morning if we can get the wind to drop to calm.
