Summer For The Solstice

Summer “officially” begins at 1:04AM Friday, and Summertime weather of the generally favorable kind will be with us for several days to come. A frontal system will be draped across northern New England and will trigger showers and thunderstorms across that region Friday through Sunday. I cannot rule out a stray one making it into southern NH or MA any of the next 3 afternoons or evenings as the air will be warmer and increasingly humid, but for the most part we’ll be seeing dry weather in the WHW forecast area. By early next week, it will be a bit hotter with continued increased humidity.

Updated forecast for southeastern New England…

TONIGHT: Clear. Lows middle 50s interior valleys to middle 60s urban centers. Wind S to SW under 10 MPH.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Slight chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm northern MA and southern NH late day. Highs 73-78 South Coast, 78-83 elsewhere. Wind W 5-15 MPH.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy to mostly clear. Lows 60-65. Wind light SW.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Isolated showers or thunderstorms possible in NH and MA in the late afternoon. Highs 75-85, coolest South Coast. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy. Isolated thunderstorms southern NH early. Lows 63-68. Wind light SW.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy to partly sunny. Isolated showers or thunderstorms southern NH and northern MA in the afternoon. Highs 75-85 again coolest South Coast. Wind SW 5-15 MPH.

MONDAY: Partly sunny. Low 67. High 84.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy. Low 68. High 88.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Scattered showers/thunderstorms. Low 68. High 82.

Thanks Tk, I always think of summer as June,July, and August but yes the solstice is tomorrow 🙂 Hernandez is in trouble , but Go Patriots!! 24 days till ill be at the 1st mini camp practice, can’t wait!! I remember when there was 5,000 people there back in 03, now there’s 15-20,000 that show up per practice, good day all 🙂

    1. The players are great with the fans….not only autographs but interacting. And if you have a young child they are amazing. And wow is the story crumbling around Hernandez.

      1. Yes we love it and the kids have a blast, it’s like tradition, this will be 10 yrs going 🙂

  3. There are tons of midsummer celebrations in Europe and especially I believe in the scandanavian countries. Mac said it is the biggest celebration of the year next to Christmas. Magic is also supposed to be at its strongest. Happy midsummer to all 🙂

    1. Sorry. Mac said in Sweden….he seems to think the other scandanavian countries perhaps as well. Maybe Joshua can clarify

  4. I seem to recall 4 very warm to hot days at the very end of May, carrying into early June, followed by a few weeks of well above normal rainfall….

    Is the pattern about to repeat itself again, with the next 5 days or so being very warm to hot, potentially to return to a wetter pattern as June turns into early July ………

    Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will be arrested on a charge of obstruction of justice related to the homicide of Odin Lloyd, WBZ reported Friday morning, crediting a law enforcement source. The report indicates that more charges could eventually be added.

    This guy is in big trouble. Let’s hope he is just an idiot and didn’t pull the trigger, but
    clearly he is involved in some way.

    1. The media is out of control too…..following his car from N Attleboro to Foxboro to Boston with helicopters?? Yelling at him to ask why he isn’t explaining – as if he’s going to confess to them and they’ll have the scoop of the year.

  8. Hernandez has ropes and gray as a lawyer, anyone wanna make a bet he gets away nearly free, can anyone say ray Lewis ?

    1. He won’t be a pat for much longer. It’s clear that he is hiding something. He has ties to gang bangers as well. Drugs take and ruin lives. This was drug related.

        1. Yes Charlie over weed. The police were quoted as saying it was a drug related incident over weed. We don’t know his role yet, but when you smash up your survalence camera and turn a smashed up phone over to police and than to not cooperate with the investigation does not look good. This kid has quite the record and had a busy off season getting in trouble. To bad huge loss for pats.

      2. I totally agree with John. It is DRUG related.
        Pot is likely included, but it wouldn’t surprise me in the
        slightest that more heavy duty drugs are involved as well.

        We’ll get the whole story eventually.

    1. Happy summer, rainshine. I decided we will have a small scale Swedish midsummer celebration this weekend. Clearly, I need very little excuse to have good food —- oh and family fun. I think I listed those in the wrong order 😉

          1. Although all the sports talk show hosts don’t
            agree with that.

            I personally think that Mr. Bill will use Tebow
            in the slot where Hernandez often lined up.
            OR at least he’ll try him out there. We’ll see if
            it works. 😀

            1. Oh what do they know…..my money is on Mrs OS 😉 and I agree that it very likely is drug related escalated by an apparently very unstable individual. Too many violent incidents being attributed to football players lately

  11. Tebow is not cut out to be a quarterback in the NFL so I would try him in a different slot. The only reason he got a chance with the Patriots is his college coach Urban Meyer is friends with Bill Bellicheck and Bellichick is doing this as a favor to Meyer.

    1. I don’t think BB ever intended to use him as QB but that is of course baseless and just a guess.

        He will be utilized as a running back and/or receiver OR
        NOT AT ALL.

Hermandez……… why, why you seemed so cool last summer when i got your autograph on my football 🙁 this stinks!!! can someone say set up?… He hung out with the wrong people. he is probably hiding it so he can protect his family, he is worried that the gang that some of his freinds were part of will hurt him and his family possibly….. If convicted, he will no longer be a patriot. He has already been kicked out of the stadium.
