Saturday Forecast

DAYS 1-5 (NOVEMBER 28-DECEMBER 2)…
A slower front means wetter weather this morning and a cloudy sky all day today. Drier air finally makes it in tonight and Sunday. A cool-down is underway now and will continue through Sunday, only to be reinforced for Monday after a secondary front passes through Sunday evening. A low pressure area will move through the region from southwest to northeast late Tuesday and Wednesday with unsettled weather, but precipitation will be rain instead of snow because of mild air returning to the region.
TODAY: Cloudy. Periods of rain morning to midday. Temperatures fall from the 50s into the 40s. Wind N 5-15 MPH.
TONIGHT: Slow clearing north to south. Lows 25-30 except 30-35 urban centers and coast. Wind NW 5-15 MPH.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs in the 40s. Wind W 5-15 MPH.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows in the 20s. Wind NW 10-20 MPH.

TUESDAY: Increasing clouds. Rain at night. Lows in the 20s. Highs in the 40s.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Episodes of rain showers. Lows in the 40s. Highs in the 50s.

Wet weather systems possible around December 9 and at the very end of the period. Temperatures continuing above normal.

  1. Thank you, TK. Roofers were here long enough to wake everyone up and then, understandably, give up. Cannot blame them and appreciate their attempt.

  2. So far the pattern heading toward Meteorological Winter’s 1st month is going about as expected. Basically the regime we’ve been in for November will be dominant for the first half of December as well. You get your shots of cold air, but the milder air dominates overall, and your precipitation events are mostly uneventful and spaced rather far apart. The northern and southern jet streams, in regards to our area, will be working independently. Our air mass changes will be from disturbances in the northern stream, such as the down-step in temps this weekend from a cold front then a secondary trough. When southern jet stream energy does get involved it will usually be break-away stuff and in fairly mild air, such as what is coming up late Tuesday into Wednesday. A second southern stream system will be pushed far south of the region over the weekend, and a third may come along with wet weather about a week after the first one.

  3. Thanks tk 🙂

What a crappy kind of day, one that most would call stay inside under the blankets, and watch a couple movies. Enjoy the crappy weather day. 🙂

  4. Blah Blah blah day. Pay back for all of those beauties we have had.

Go Pats. Looks like there may be some light snow in Denver for the game.
WPC says likely. Models indicate so. Some as much as 3 inches, most an inch or 2 perhaps.

Not sure If that would favor NE or not????

    From Denver NWS office:

QG FIELDS SHOW FAVORABLE ASCENT DEVELOPING BY EARLY SUNDAY EVENING WHICH WILL CONTINUE OVERNIGHT BEFORE MOVING EASTWARD ON MON. LAPSE RATES AREN`T QUITE AS UNSTABLE FM WHAT WERE FORECASTED 24 HOURS AGO HOWEVER CROSS-SECTIONS SHOW DECENT MOISTURE DEPTH WITH FAVORABLE LOW LVL UPSLOPE ALBEIT WEAK. OVERALL SHOULD SEE A GRADUAL INCREASE IN SNOW ACROSS THE AREA BY EARLY SUNDAY EVENING WHICH WILL CONTINUE OVER THE NERN PLAINS INTO MON MORNING. IF EVERYTHING COMES TOGETHER RIGHT THERE WILL BE SOME POTENTIAL FOR HEAVIER SNOW OVER
NERN CO SUNDAY NIGHT WITH ADVISORY AMOUNTS CERTAINLY POSSIBLE IN SOME PLACES.

    1. TK, your thoughts on snow possibilities for the game and if so, how much
during the game? How big an impact, if any?

      Thanks

  5. Sorry been busy all day either decorating or at the city’s festival.

Light to moderate snow Sunday night, minor to borderline moderate impact on the game if it comes down heavily enough. Cold game – 20s.
