Tuesday Forecast

7:21AM

DAYS 1-5 (MAY 23-27)
No changes to the mid afternoon discussion from yesterday. Still expecting today to turn out quite nice. Most of the rain expected to the southeast remained offshore, which was erroneously brought too far north by guidance. I also still feel the same model errors exist but are being corrected for slowly, meaning more rain tomorrow morning, less rain Thursday during the day, more rain Thursday night and Friday, and lingering clouds Saturday to start the Memorial Day Weekend.
TODAY: Areas of low clouds and fog early then partly to mostly sunny. Highs 60-67 southeastern MA and southern RI, 68-75 elsewhere. Wind variable up to 10 MPH.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy evening. Mostly cloudy overnight. Chance of rain southern areas toward dawn. Lows 55-62. Wind light variable.
WEDNESDAY: Cloudy. Rain likely, favoring eastern MA, RI, and southeastern CT, during the morning and midday. Partial clearing favoring northwestern areas later. Highs 63-70. Wind N 5-15 MPH.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy. Chance of rain at night. Lows 54-62. Highs 62-70.
FRIDAY: Cloudy. Periods of rain. Lows 53-60. Highs 60-68.
SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy to partly sunny. Isolated showers. Lows 48-55. Highs 64-72.

DAYS 6-10 (MAY 28-JUNE 1)
Remainder of Memorial Day Weekend current outlook features fair weather Sunday May 28 and some clouds and a shower risk for Monday May 29. Additional showers possible May 30-31 as a couple disturbances are in the region. Fair by June 1 if current timing works out. Temperatures near to slightly above normal.

DAYS 11-15 (JUNE 2-6)
Briefly warmer, then a cool down with a few showers around as the time of air mass transition.

  1. Thanks TK. They aren’t quite in range, but the RAP and HRRR look to be thinking along your lines with bringing more precip into the region tomorrow. I think that’s probably a good bet as well. Most of the models have not been handling precip well lately, whether it be timing, location, or intensity.

  2. Thank you Tk . So if you were making a work decision for Saturday outside you would let the customer know order stock Saturday is dry . Many thanks .

  3. The TV mets have persistently been having most of tomorrow’s rain for extreme SE MA/Cape only. I need tomorrow to be dry.

      1. Both the NAMS have us wet through about 1-2 PM, although
not heavy rain by any stretch. The HRRR rain appears a bit
        more substantial. We shall see.

The 12Z NAMS will be out around 10:30 or so.

  4. I spoke with Brian about having a meet and greet at my house in August. Between us, we came up with two dates that might work – August 20 and 27. Both are Sundays and my thought was some conversations and munchies for a couple of hours starting around 1:30ish. I don’t know how anyone feels about driving as far as Sutton, however, so thought I’d ask here.

  5. Thanks, TK.

August get-together with WHW is a great idea. Thanks, Vicki. And, I’d get to see Sutton.

  6. Very hard for me to concentrate today, as the terrorist attack in Manchester, England, leaves me in pain. Teenagers dead and maimed, mostly teenage girls, attending a concert. Appalling. The sick, cowardly, depraved nature of ISIS reveals itself once again. I rarely agree with our President, but I agree with his assessment of ISIS as a bunch of losers. Or, as Rumsfeld once said, dead-enders. They have zero to offer, except violence and a nihilistic hell in what remains of their so-called caliphate.

    1. I always thought that area of Northern England to be safe and most of the activity to be in London. I have quite a bit of my Mom’s side of the family living in Manchester and they are all safe but it really makes it hit home, as it did when the attack happened here in Boston and shows that even “soft” targets like this can be hit by the terrorists which is scary in itself. This as I send my daughter to a concert this evening with some friends with more concern than I had at this time yesterday.

      1. I’m glad to know everyone is safe on your Mom’s side of the family. Completely understand your concern regarding your daughter. I have a 23 year old daughter who now lives in Ireland and has spent time in Northern England and Edinburgh, and is a frequent concertgoer. She and I just spoke over the phone.

      2. My youngest and I were talking yesterday about the difference from the time she was young and her children’s lives now. And then I look back to when I was a child. It is so difficult, North, to be a parent with all of this.

    2. I also agree with Trump’s comment. I have been unable to focus also. It just leaves an ache that doesn’t want to go away.

  7. Vicki, the August gathering is a nice idea and I would be interested! My summer is getting filled up but as of now, both Sunday August 20 and 27 would actually work for me. I’ll pencil it in and keep me posted.

    1. That is great. Thanks, Mark. I looked on the map as I thought you would be closer to Sutton than many folks in MA. We are close to the CT border. But it seems it is an hour out. Perhaps, though Sutton is closer than other locations in MA 😉

  8. Actually Sutton is a piece of cake drive for me – under an hour. Definitely easier for me than driving to Boston metro and actually closer for me than many spots in western CT.

  9. Saturday and Sunday still seem pretty good weather wise.

Wonder if the next warm surge is one of those that builds in south-central Canada and then arrives from the Midwest/Great Lakes area, as opposed to from the Ohio Valley/southeast. Perhaps 10 to 14 days out.

  10. I need a Friday morning forecast, for about 8:15-9:00 for Milton. We are supposed to have “walk to school day” and I meet a group of typically 20-30 kids. We kind of have to make a decision today–yea or nay? I don’t mind getting wet; I do mind getting soaked.

      1. oh – I see that was a reply to Deb. I can’t win for trying. I read down and I miss what is up. I read up and I miss what is down. If I read it all, I just forget what everyone said. Getting old is a ton of fun 😉

          1. awwww darn. I even got that wrong.

I’m going back to bed and waking up again I guess 🙂
