    1. We will see a lot of this next week too.

Signs of a pattern break down there but it has to cycle through a couple more times. 1 or 2 more significant warm-ups first. Blocking has been in control, and a lot of people associate blocking with foul weather here – not always the case. This time it was anomalous warmth and lack of rainfall.

  1. Thanks TK. Models have really trended stronger/more dynamic with the “Lakes Cutter” low moving through the Great Lakes this weekend. Possibly close to 980mb as the center passes south of James Bay in Canada. Raging snowstorm possible on its northwest side for parts of southern Canada. In the warm sector, by Sunday, extremely strong wind fields and some marginal instability may contribute to a severe weather risk mainly to our west along the cold front, contingent on whether just 200-400 joules of CAPE can develop. Even over eastern New England, another strong low level jet looks likely to develop by late Sunday, and this one may mix down a little better than what we saw with Nate the other day. So once again, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some localized tree damage and power outages Sunday PM, especially if the models keep up the idea of a stronger low passing through the Lakes.

Unfortunately, once again, it does not look like this system will be much of a rain producer for our area.

    1. We just get a cold front and it looks like all the precip (and not much of it) will be along and right behind the front.

  2. I was going to mention home field advantage regarding the Red Sox back-to-back postseason blues but a lot good that did the Indians, huh.

Still if a team wins their division they should at least have home field for the first round. I believe in the NFL a division winner gets home field for the first round minimum…until they face the Pats at Gillette for the next round. 😉

  3. For baseball you have the three division winners and two wild teams from each league making the playoffs. For football you have 4 division winners 2 wild cards from both AFC NFC for a total of 12 teams. In football you do host a playoff game if you win the division first round if your not a top 2 seed divisional round if you a top 2 seed.

  4. Good morning, everyone!
