  1. Scott…

I never got a chance yesterday to express my sympathy on the passing of your uncle.
    Know of my prayers.

    1. This is good news for sure. Just about Every town FB has stories of this. There is no excuse.

  2. Nice to see consistent drops in numbers of deaths nationwide. Word of caution is that today is like a Sunday, and this weekend there were glaring inconsistencies in reporting of data, especially the very low death numbers coming out of many states did not make sense.

Nevertheless, whatever model said we’d be seeing 200k new cases and 3k new deaths by the end of May, was totally and stupendously wrong. I do wish the modelers would be more forthcoming and humble. Come forward, admit errors. The models have been so bad, they make the worst GFS run look phenomenal. In my opinion, all the models have stunk. And, they’re worthless for predicting what will happen next.

I think the nation should ignore the models and modelers, and focus on continued common sense rules regarding safe reopening, social and physical distancing, and testing. Now that the virus is waning, it’s time to really suppress it so that it doesn’t come back with a vengeance in the fall. And yes, that means continued vigilance and no monkey business like I’ve seen on the news and on social media, and even with my own eyes. It’s very possible to have fun, enjoy the outdoors, without crowding or totally ignoring the virus. If someone doesn’t want to that for him or herself, because he or she is young and fit, well, do it for grandma and grandpa, and do it for the middle-aged with underlying health conditions, which by the way are VERY prevalent: Diabetes, obesity, hypertension, asthma, autoimmune disorders. More than 50% of adults over 50 have one or more underlying health condition that makes them vulnerable to SARS-CoV-2.

Finally, this story story about Donna Morrissey (51), who died on Friday from Covid-19 after a 2 month (!) battle, should be a reminder that the Covid-19 victims could be anybody, you, me, anyone. Donna was a Red Cross executive, and prior to that she worked for the Boston Archdiocese. She also did some TV locally.

    1. Such horribly tragic news about Donna Morrissey.

Words of wisdom, Joshua….” I think the nation should ignore the models and modelers, and focus on continued common sense rules regarding safe reopening, social and physical distancing, and testing. Now that the virus is waning, it’s time to really suppress it so that it doesn’t come back with a vengeance in the fall.”

    1. I finally got mine on the 15th! 🙂

Did you get yours Vicki? I believe you mentioned here that you hadn’t yet received it at the time. I believe JPD got his almost immediately last month.

      1. Correct Philip. We received ours very early on, like the 2nd or 3rd day after hearing the some people were receiving them.

The only reason we received ours because was due to my part-time work status, else we would not have qualified. My son, who needs the money far more than we do, did not qualify because he earned
        over the limit last year.
