  1. I’ve now been tested about 15 times for covid19, all negative.

Second vaccine shot on Tuesday Feb 9.

    1. I’m getting second one on Monday the 8th . A lot of people ad work getting thrown for a loop with the second moderna shot but I’m trying to remain calm .

    2. Congrats on getting shots.

I can’t even imagine when I’ll get my first one … I am over 65 and can’t see a way that I’ll get one until at least April.

      1. Ditto. I’m 71 and there is nothing for me. So many relatives much younger in other states have had theirs

  2. We got two in my house who are positive now. We were pretty surprised as they just had basic sinus congestion/head cold type symptoms. Wondering if they got it two weekends ago when we were at Jay Peak? Going to get tested myself shortly. Good times…

    1. Take care, Mark. Thankfully, coronavirus tends to be mild (like the symptoms you described in your children) or even asymptomatic in children and young adults. It’s also not considered particularly dangerous in your age group so long as there aren’t underlying health conditions. I believe you’re in your 30s. My concern would be spreading to loves ones like your Mom or others. But, I’m sure you’re aware of that. All the best.

By the way, after a very long period of being the nation’s best in terms of Covid-19 numbers, Vermont is now one of the `worst.’ Granted, its baseline was low to begin with, so you need to account for that when you see the growth numbers.

      1. I am actually 45 now (time flies). My girlfriend Cait and her two girls (who are 15 and 19) live with me pretty much full time. She and her youngest are positive. My kids (who are now 11 and 13) are here half the time but were here the last two days so definitely exposed. I sent them back to my ex-wife’s today and they got tested earlier. They will go get tested again early next week.

I don’t have any symptoms but we’ll see. Can’t think of anywhere else they could have gotten it besides VT two weekends ago. Cait came down with a sinus headache 4 days after we returned and then her youngest started with the runny nose a few days later. We went to a restaurant while we were up there that was small and had the tables crunched up pretty tight. We were probably only 3 feet away from the nearest table. We were commenting how they would probably get tagged for violations if the State came in.

        1. Geez, I’m losing it. I am 44, going to be 45 in April. You know you are getting old when you start losing count!

        2. Since the virus is endemic and widespread it’s of course hard to know where Cait and her youngest contracted it.

In any case, take care. I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this.

  3. TK and SSK, glad to hear that your first shots went well and that you’ve got second ones lined up.

Longshot, I’m hoping you can get it sooner than April.

If you lived in West Virginia you’d probably have already been vaccinated by now. `Red’ states have done A LOT better than most `blue’ states at vaccinating people. Goes to show, it’s foolish for people to think erroneously that Dems are better at responding to C-19 than Republicans.

  4. I have to say that I’m not sure I would have the JJ vaccine. First, it is being rushed. Second, it is far less effective than the other two

  5. My latest is an opinion piece. Forbes frowns on these, but I published it anyway. I really think that now is NOT the time to roll back restrictions, at least not to the degree that Baker is doing, and especially since not all schools have reopened. Reopen the schools. I am all for that. Then increase capacity limits at indoor establishments IF warranted. Right now, with new variants floating around and Massachusetts lagging horribly in terms of vaccinating the public, is NOT the time. https://www.forbes.com/sites/joshuacohen/2021/02/05/this-is-the-wrong-time-for-states-in-the-us-to-ease-covid-19-restrictions/?sh=2652ac977a53

  6. My problem with vaccine registration is why health insurance information is required since the vaccine is supposed to be “free”. Is this just in Massachusetts?
